Not inclined to jump off any cliff. Just sure that we should check out the friends of our enemies, BEFORE we pick on our friends.

I wouldn't expect any hard evidence at this point, I just know that we have been under attack by SH/BL and company since 1993 and we still continue to look elsewhere. BTW, I think the FBI already know this is international terrorism and they're hiding it from us to "protect us".

Look, I live in the area where these shootings are taking place. People here are scared to walk to their cars in parking lots, and buying gas has become a real test of courage. I don't care if Moose is purple, he is a common idiot. His grammar is atrocious for someone in the high- profile position he's in. I think the least citizens can expect out of a Chief of Police is the capacity to pronounce common words correctly and put his sentences together in a fairly educated way. Moose is a laughingstock-and that certainly shouldn't make me a racist for saying so.

It was going on before 1993 (re: the US) I can also tell you that it was going on in 1974 in France. Algerians blew up one of the basilicas of Sacre Coeur. I think the French figure appeasement will work. They are SO WRONG!

But, I digress, we still have nothing to pin the shootings on ME terrorists at this point. Its a waiting game for some hard evidence.

Also, even IF it turns out to be some homegrown nutcase, that wouldn't preclude a connection to ME terrorists. They may be working together thinking, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Even if it is temporary. In which case they underestimated their bed partner. jmo But, its just as viable at this point as any other scenario.

"Its a waiting game for some hard evidence."

No hard evidence in 12 shootings? Should we wait for 12 times 12?

Should LE wait too? Sometimes you have to have a theory so you can test it.

Too much waiting going on. The 6 known terrorist cells around DC should be raided to check out guns and trucks. This hasn't happen yet or the right would be telling us about the terrible civil rights violations that went on.

You can't run a PC war.

Moose, I won't speculate on the reason he came out after the child being shot and stated it was personal. He did make the statement, and I'll accept that.

It's definately time to change the messenger either way it goes. Or at least every time he comes out say "it's just a matter of time but we will catch this guy and bring him to justice". Do or say something to begin to mess with this guy's psyche. The Chief is cowering now, or at least it appears that way from where I'm sitting, not wanting to make this guy angrier.

Have you considered the possibility that some terrorist organization is learning how to divert massive LE attention away from DC proper?

No hard evidence in 12 shootings?

You have some hard evidence? Cite it. Not theory, not suposition. Not gut feeling. HARD EVIDENCE. Last I knew this country didn't arrest and convict on theories, or feelings, or guesses. Now, if you want to change that, and start arresting people on feelings and guesses, say so.... But, I doubt that you really want that!

My local ABC news station just reported that the note contained "a significant amount of text" and that Tarot cards has been left at "more than one" shooting scene.

Oh yes. I imagine some ME terrorists are watching things as they unfold. THAT is a real detriment to all this. That they are watching and learning. IF these shootings aren't ME, then I would think that sometime in the future, they will be.

The news media made so much about the sniper must work on weekends because he wasn't shooting on weekends. At the time it seemed to me to be an open invitation for him to do something on the weekend. Maybe just a coincidence - but he did, didn't he?

Your getting the cart before the horse. Calm down and think rationaly for a minute. Terrorists have said "blood will run" in our streets. Blood is running in our streets.

Try to narrow your view down to those that 1) we're at war with, 2) we're about to go to war with, 3) Those who are openly threating us. The quality of the investigation depends on narrowing the possibilities atleast a little.

I'm not talking about arresting people, I'm talking about investigating people.

Would you count it as "hard evidence", if someone says they will destroy you? What about a known pattern of training snipers? What about known sniper attacks by the same group elsewhere in world? Just how hard does the evidence have to be to steer the investigation in a certain direction?

I am calm. And I've read enough of your posts to know that you have certain people arrested and convicted already!

As for blood in the streets. We've had that for years, or maybe you don't have gangs, or drive by shootings or other. Some neighborhoods get mighty bloody. Maybe those are terrorists too?

"Basically, they quote a law enforcement source that they killer has left messages at other crime scenes-- besides the tarot card we know about. The messages specifically tell the cops not to release the details of the message."

The content of the messages has finally been revealed:

"Dick and I are only doing this to distract people from the economy since our war with Iraq was unexpectedly delayed.
P.S. Don't tell anyone"

*ducks*

Please tell me who, so they can can atleast be investigated.

Yes, all of us have dealt with ordinary local crime.

Do you think this fits that pattern? If so, how many more near daily shootings will you allow before you say, "Gee this must be something different!"

That is a threat. I know someone that was threatened on the phone. They called the police, and guess what. Nothing could be done BECAUSE it was just a threat, and nothing had happened yet. Sounds weird I know, but words are one thing and ACTION is another.

What about a known pattern of training snipers? What about known sniper attacks by the same group elsewhere in world? Just how hard does the evidence have to be to steer the investigation in a certain direction?

Afraid in a court of law, much of that would fall under supposition and hearsay. What is needed is to actually catch the shooter! THAT WOULD HELP! Some physical evidence linking the shooter to the ME. I know, you don't like it, many don't or won't but its necessary.

LE may and probably do have more info than we are being given. (hope so anyway) until we are given more facts we have to work with what we are given. Which at this point is inconclusive.

"the perp barely got away and was impressed with the Ashland Chief."

This is what he wants them to think. He probably rented a storage area big enough for his vehicle somewhere near by or rented an apartment or house with a garage near by. He slid into it quickly and laid low until they stopped searching vehicles in the area. Maybe he went up to his newly rented apartment and watched the news and laughed.

You were talking about 'blood in the streets'. You are taking a statement and twisting data to fit a statement. Sort of a self fulfilling prophecy. I merely pointed out how that same statement could apply to something else.
