Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

That's true. Yesterday, the media was playing the story about that movie's release being delayed because of the shootings a lot. Maybe he was just so pleased that his killings had also killed a major movie release, he decided to use it to play with the cops a bit.

Correct, there was no other logical reason for the Moose to have to point out that the number was a phone number. If it were a conventional phone number the sniper (who is obviously not stupid) would know he left a phone number.

More support for the message being "911"

It was described as "cryptic" and "something only the person leaving the message would understand"

Also, a few weeks ago (according to news tonight on Fox) a senior, captured AQ outlined the nature of the 2nd wave of attacks. Among the techniques disclosed were sniper shootings in the US.

Then a week ago, after the shootings began, Tennant starts talking about the real possibility of a second wave of attacks in this country by AQ.

Schools are being closed and it has been reported the feds are sending investigators to GITMO to inquire about this case,

While no one knows anything for sure, those who believe the recent developments rule out AQ or other foreign terrorst involvement have not thought this through.

Having said that, it could also be some just some real homegrown crazies.

What's there to believe in? Chief Moose is just the messenger with a difficult job. The FBI and ATF agent probably has more info than the Chief and they are constantly coming out as props, leaving him to find better ways of "it would be inappropriate to discuss...". Just my speculation of course.

I'd say they have put themselves in a position where now the killer can insist on certain things or more people are killed. The FACTS as we know them indicate that ME terrorists AQ in particular were behind 9/11. We do NOT have any facts that indicate ME terrorists are behind these shootings thus far.

Was it personal because a child was shot? Why wasn't it personal when the son of a retired Montgomery Police officer was shot? Wouldn't that be personal too?

I'm sure it all is personal, considering many of those killed were involved in crime fighting. My statement was his words on that particular day. As you are aware the Chief don't talk much.

But, my question is... why was that shooting 'personal', yet the death of the son of a retired MPO, not personal? I would think the death of the 2nd victim, would have made it personal.
