They demand that so and so be released or they will release something like small pox on the rest of usI don't think they are threatening the WMDs just yet. Otherwise, we wouldn't be shutting down traffic. I suspect that our shutting down the roads has as much to do with limiting the shooter's movement and the number of people the shooter can shoot in one day/night as it has to do with any hope of actually catching him.
The cops would have to weigh the risk of herding thousands of citizens together as a target for WMDs vs. the risks of letting the shooter travel unimpeded.

I really think the 911 number to establish contact is on the money...but one day, we'll know what it was :~)

I'm trying to figure out why CNN has a reporter walking all over the crime scene? It would seem as though the Police cleared that area very quickly, less than 24 hours. Is every Agency investigating this crime wave incompetent? Can someone call Gill Grissom in Vegas?

Maybe the police made up the whole thing about a number and want the sniper to think someone else is 'horning-in' on his operation. They have to do something.

So far, nothing's convinced me it's muslim terrorism either, although I do keep an open mind.
As far as tonight's performance, I'm still a little confused here. I read all the explanations about the phone booth, the cell phone etc... And they make sense.
But I'm just wondering: If the perp left Moose a phone number, WHY WOULD MOOSE HAVE TO ANNOUNCE IT ON TV? Why would he have to tell the perp: We're ready to take your call? Why not just have someone ready to take that phone call?

Half their effort?? 10,000 cops??
I want to see some raids on the known 6 terrorists cells around DC within a few miles of most of the shootings. Just look for 223 guns and white trucks, if they find any, start asking really serious questions. If and when LE do this, we'll know from the crys of violated rights from the right.
To: OXENinFLA
Can someone please tell me WHY IS MOOSE STILL IN CHARGE??????
I wonder too!!! The Ashland police did a much better job last night communicating with the media (which is really information for the public) Moose just fights and plays games with the media. Like yesterday with the shell casing in the box truck, he had to have known yesterday morning the caliber was much bigger than the .223 but he just said "we won't have any information until Monday".
If he would just be straight with the public they may be able to help catch this guy.

I hadn't thought about this. Interesting theory. So glad people are trying to figure out what Moose said and why. Can't stay now, will check back in a bit. Thanks for all the info., everybody.

How do you know they haven't already?

Why not just have someone ready to take that phone call?Probably to let the perp know that the phone line is set up and they are ready to receive calls.

One of Rahman's sons, Ahmed Abdul Rahman, was in the videotape and urged Muslims to "move forward and shed blood." The northern alliance announced Thursday that it captured Ahmed, who goes by the name "God's sword."Thank you!
