Chief Moose Asks Sniper to Call Them Back
Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !

Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.

Can you imagine every second of the day...some EXPERT in your field (accountant or programmer WHATEVER) was on TV second guessing your every move...despite the fact they have NO IDEA what tools you possess, or what your game plan or immediate goals may be...MY PRAYERS are with Moose and the men and women of his department.

I think the Moose haters are really people who dislike blacks in power...quite simply racists who claim the victim of their racism is STUPID or DUMB and DESERVES the distain...similar tactic the Demoncrats use on Republicans...I guess some people like to share the hatred...I think Moose is in a tough position and admire him for moving forward in an extremly tough investigation that is CONSTANTLY being secong guessed and questioned...MY PRAYERS are with Moose and his department of men and women.

Moose is in a tough position and, frankly, he hasn't handled some situations very well. This has nothing to do with race, give me a break! The same people bashing Moose, have been here praising Powell and Rice on other threads, race has nothing to do with criticism, justified or not, of Moose.

I agree...Moose is in a very tough position. There are a lot of things about this case that we are prob not being told. Moose is not stupid. He comes across as organized...and in control. The sniper is still one step ahead of them...this won't be the case forever. Everyone better be praying for Moose and the task force...

Moose was forced to give credit to the Ashland authorities in the first part of the press conference. This was dictated by the sniper. The sniper is ridiculing Moose.

I agree with you about Moose. I don't think he is going this alone. He is probably getting council and expert advice from many on what to say and do. There may be other LE involved that we don't know about helping with the investigation.

Take some time out before nailing Moose. When this is over Moose will get his report card. Some very bright people stumble on their words (look at G.W.B). Moose is under a great deal of pressure and probably is privied to information that can not be released to the public.

No, I can't imagine! It really stinks and I don't blame his frustration with them. I think he has done a good job in a difficult situation. I have been frustrated with his "take questions, but don't answer them" press conferences and my main criticism of him has been with the fact that he takes questions in the first place.

In the end, we will see when this is finally solved just how well Moose will have done.
