Ashland Shooting: Sunday Updates
Various ^ | 10-20-02 | GRRRRR

Posted on 10/20/2002 4:13:26 AM PDT by GRRRRR

The other thread is running over 2800 posts...so here's a new place to post for Sunday.

Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.

Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".

Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.

Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

Over to you Laurie Dhue...GRRRRRollin'

The cells shown on Howlin's map (posted in large thread) are in Northern Virginia. (Herndon, near Dulles)

From there travel times are:
the Maryland locations within 45 min. drive,
the Fredericksburg locations at about 45 min. drive, and the Ashland at about 1 hr 20 min.

I would think that spectators would see the big truck parked, with loading ramps down so the smaller vehicle could drive into it. I think the whole process of getting one vehicle into another would be readily noticable in any neighborhood. Especially if it appeared that the loading was being done in a hurry so as to effect a get away.

I would like to know how many believe the shootings have a direct link to ME terrorism

There is good news, and bad news if this is terrorism.

The good news: If it is terrorism, we can stop it completely by changing our foreign policy. On the other hand, the bad news is that as long as we continue to meddle in other countries affairs, terrorists acts will continue forever.

George Washington gave good advice.

GRRRRR started the thread. I just flagged you :)

I don't know if it's a different cell or not. Either way, I think the shootings are going to be further south for a while. They're scared of that drone. They don't know how many we've got, though; so I think we'll get them soon.

I think it's clear it is ME-related terrorism. No "nut" has this many safehouses.

It took me a little longer (til the shooting last Monday night)! I am amazed at how many LEO still think single person, standard profile....

Ihave mixed feelings.

I am expecting this to be a group of people carrying out the attacks. Points to Muslim terrorist network.

The tarot card proclaiming "I Am God" would not be appropriate for a Muslim. But then again, can a Muslim deceive to kill the infidel????

If you wish to become islamic, feel free. The rest of us are going to fight like hell. And I guarantee you it won't be the muslims left standing at the end of the day.

I've been thinking about that bullet.

I think there's a good chance it's already been ID'd. These bullets have always been fragmenting. Just because they couldn't remove all the fragments doesn't mean they weren't able to remove one large enough to ID.

Unless this is a different cell using different ammunition...

The jihad on America has nothing whatever to do with our foreign policy, but everything to do with moslems' desire to convert/submit us to islam.

I thought that also. However, what about the "devout Muslims" murderers who patronized strip clubs right before the 9/11 attacks?

To a muslim anything is acceptable if it contributes to helping wipe out the infidels.

If it is terrorism, we can stop it completely by changing our foreign policy.

Are you delusional? Have you ever known any Middle Easterners up close and personal? These folks are fighting battles that stem from the Crusades! USA wasn't even around during the Crusades, battles that occurred before North and South America were even discovered.

I remember long conversations with a Lebanese friend in the 80s who blamed the wars in Beirut, and the taking and torture of Western hostages, on some policy promoted by Bobby Kennedy in the 60s. Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Middle Easterner in the late 60s, still in jail for the crime, if you remember. I know Middle Easterners and their American symmpathizers today who bitterly blame the USA for the establishment of Israel in the 1940s and claim that that is what is causing the trouble today.

We could turn foreign policy 180 degrees and stand it on its head, and our enemies in the Middle East would trump up some other reason to target America and Americans. Educated Middle Easterners are astute students of history. They savor it and twist it in the retelling. Americans who slept through what little history they were forced to take in school are no match in a debate with an impassioned Middle Easterner, or one who has fallen uder their spell.

you go ahead and side with the goathumpers if that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy,
but when/if the day comes that your guys and our guys face each other across a field,
there's a good chance that i, or someone just like me, will be the last thing you see on this earth ...

I don't know if it would be appropriate or not, but I heard Larry Johnson say last night that more than 2000 Americans trained in those terrorist camps. As long as they're willing to kill infidels, I doubt that the "true believers" are going to get upset if they leave a tarot card at a scene.

Reason the shooter missed this time:

His base is the Wash DC area. This is where he does best, blends in and knows the lay of the land. Exit roads, back roads, parking lots to sneak across, main high ways etc.......
Many Muslims are in the taxi, courier and limo business.

He headed south to show the media that he is capable of striking outside the area they were defining him by. His reconnaissance was not so good in Ashland. He is a  stranger there and does not blend in since he is Islamic. Plus he/the crew had to drive down from the DC area. He did not set up as well as he could have.

This is why he messed up. The victim is doing OK. Sniper was too cowardly to take a head shot 'cause he couldn't get close enough and he wanted to get this one right since it's his first action in a week. So he went for the torso and missed ...missed killing thank G_d.
He shot at night since brown skinned folk are more noticeable in Ashland than in DC area

Sniper has been quiet for a week. Why? Because he has been doing recon the past week and has been re-evaluating strategy since the police have come close to nabbing him right after his last few kills.

I have never understood why, from the moment these killings went multi-state, the federal government did not take charge of this case.

Does the upcoming election have anything to do with why the feds don't want to take responsibility for this and acknowledge that this is foreign terrorism being perpetrated on our soil.
