Ashland Shooting: Sunday Updates

Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.

Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".

Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.

Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

Cooper Anderson just asked a question that Darin was getting asked a lot on her email. They were doing a segment on what Moose really meant and only the Shooter will know the code that Moose used. Give me a break...

Just for the record, I was talking about the pre-paid type of cell you buy at a 7-11. You really don't think I am so stupid as to suggest that cell phone activity is untraceable.

Regardless, I of course now believe we are dealing with with a landline, and the perp will have brilliantly made certain that the call will not reveal his whereabouts. He is no dope. He may be a sick f*cker, but we should respect him.

Discipline tends to eliminate the teens playing off a video game theory. So I'm leaning toward ME terrorism again.
Don't know quite what to make of the weird press conference- and sudden closing of schools in 6 counties tomorrow.
Everyone is assuming the message is from the shooter- and he wants to talk to LEO. Maybe he has demands- and threatened school kids if they aren't met? Sure seems odd to have such a sudden about face from so many officials- who all agree within minutes- and include the private schools, too- without a BIG reason to do so.

LE were supposed to be at the pay phone at a designated time last night, but found the message too late. They're trying for a second chance.

Seems like there was a movie with Bruce Willis where he had a bomb strapped to him. He had to run from 1 pay phone to another in a certain time and answer in order for it not to blow up.

Think you may be on to something. The press is reporting a "cryptic" message. What is more cryptic than a card with just "911" on it.

That would prove the kind of fear necessary to close schools while it would also be 100% consistent with the message given by Moose who for purposes of establishing contact calls it a telephone number.

After the shooting last night they set up road blocks all the way up I95 between Richmond and Washington. Here's what I can't figure out: Why do they assume he went back up to the D.C. area after the shooting? Couldn't he have gone south or west?

We should pray for the 13 year old boy too. His injuries are similar to the 37 year old. Maybe it was the shooter's plan to wound a few people so they'd have to suffer. He's too good an aim. He intentionally shot these two in the mid-section imo. What does this professional psycho know about suffering unless he has battle scars, i.e. fighting in the mid-east and these are all paybacks on behalf of UBL.

If the guy was just a nut, he'd just off himself or do like the lady who killed her kids in Texas when she called and said she did it. Nut cases can have a break with reality but then they snap out of it or opt for suicide by cop.

This professional is on a mission and he's not acting alone. He's been through the training camp including advanced guerilla warfare.

This reminds me of The Twilight Zone and we're all stuck in it. I wonder why they are withholding the name of the 37 year old unless they're waiting to see if he makes it or his wife asked that his name not be released. Do we even know what race he is? Seems like we even had more details about the 13 year old, well his family held a press conference.

This Saturday night shooting, this is unusual - the dynamics have changed with the LE. What I'm wondering about is "why was Moose" talking about a message at the Ponderosa? I thought that was out of his jurisdiction and someone else gave that press conference last night. WHY MOOSE AGAIN 90 miles away? Did the guy possibly write a MESSAGE SPECIFICALLY FOR MOOSE?

I'm not sure I know Moose's job title and jurisdiction. ITS' REAL STRANGE THAT MOOSE SHOWS UP UNLESS I JUST AM WRONG ABOUT HIS JURISDICTION.
