Per FOXNews, a 10am EASTERN news conference is planned. Two travelers pulled off I-95 for dinner at a Ponderosa Steak House. The Man, 37, was shot in the gut while his wife stood next to him.

Bullet has NOT been removed from the man while, after surgery, he remains in Critical but GUARDED condition, however, x-rays are expected to provide some dimensional analysis of the slug. Further surgeries may be required on the victim, according to FOX and then the bullet is likely to be recovered.

Meanwhile, the "white" box truck/van that was found with a "Shell" in it at Dulles is reported to be a 7.62 (.030'??) OLD shell and NOT expected to be part of the "Sniper Shootings".

Multiple LEA's are now in Ashland, VA located about 80 miles south of DC to begin more site investigations at first light of dawn.

Numerous witnesses in the area saw the man fall down and provided aid to the man. The man was still conscious and spoke during the rescue. According to (spit) CNN, there will be NO news conferences from the hospital.

Regarding the reports about roadblocks and closed roads, etc., I heartily agree with you. I think the shooter is off those roads before they can close them, but that's still no reason to tell him exactly how the cops responded. We're allowing these guys to critique the police response after each shooting and look for weak points to exploit in the next. That's mighty valuable info, IMO.

Then aagain in might make the shooter act sooner to make sure he gets his point accross that it is indeed him.

IMHO, the killer just has to tune in to any news network to know his point has been made.

The sniper(s) is DUAL TRACKING AS TO LOCATION SELECTION & VICTIM TYPE. He's going through the spectrum of places where we work, shop and eat. GAS STATIONS, SHOPPING CENTERS, SCHOOLS AND NOW, RESTAURANTS. SEE WHAT I'M SAYING? It is hurting the economy and scaring every part of the populus.

He's also going methodically picking victims by a pattern. Someone here was noting a pattern. Has this come up yet? It occurred to me while I was wakin' up.

Prior shooting - wife with husband gets shot.

Last night's shooting - man with wife gets shot. It's like they are deciding on their target and it's not random as far as they're concerned.

I think two or more snipers are playing a game like Death Race 2000 where drivers got a set amount of points for running over a certain kind of individual. He/they set up and wait for the "type" they need next for their game.

I think I dropped off the thread last night at midnight but got some sleep and woke up with the people points theory.

Makes sense to me, especially if there are two or more evil perps. And, the white van is a decoy. The shooter is on foot, knows where a safehouse is every single time. It could be a garage left open, a mosque, a hole in the ground with cover. IT'S TIME FOR A A.M. CAFFEINE BREAK. Fregards, FV

How did the victim's age drop from 60 to 37? Can't the press get anything right?

The press conferences are less specific as to "blood loss". Maybe that's so the victim can't follow the condition of the victim. That may be part of the thrill for the evil doer.

Sounds like the innocent victim was conversant because he may have been in shock. When I was hit from behind in an mva by a "white van", I couldn't stand still and couldn't stop talking all the way to the ER. In fact, I still tend to talk incessantly to this day but just since that major concussion/whiplash. That was post traumatic shock.

Correction before caffeine: Maybe the press conferences are less specific as to "blood loss" so that the shooter can't have the thrill of fantasizing about the victim's wounds.

I was thinking of leaving your thread as the commentary thread and just pinging our group, but was afraid a few people who didn't join the ping group would search under the usual title, not find us, and start another vanity. Don't know if it's the right decision or not. Re shooter - thought they'd go underground for a little longer than 5 days. They're moving south - wonder if it's travel time south or actually moving and living further south?

To all of those closely following "The Beltway Sniper", I would like to know how many believe the shootings have a direct link to ME terrorism (i.e. done by a Muslim trained in urban warfare vs. no connection whatsoever). Anyone have any ideas (or desire) for a sort of informal poll that could be taken?

FWIW, I changed 180 degrees since day one. Based on the evidence presented in the press, public forums, and a few LE contacts I have, I believe that this is related directly to ME or Islamic terror by a single cell to assess the reactions of LE and people.

Also, people naturally pay attention to the victim, I don't think I would have the presence of mind to look around immediately to try to see the perp. He just drives away nonchalantly

It is worth a half million dollars reward if you just follow him in your car with your cell phone on.
