Geez, give the guy a break. I see a police chief with bloodshot eyes at 2am(probably under a good bit of stress), patiently answering some rather dumb questions, and then having an anchor in NY twist his words(and I'm talking about the FNC anchor.)

The police are doing fine, its a needle in a haystack situation, and the needle keeps jumping to different haystacks.

I don't mean to appear defensive, but of course they're out of their league. He said they have one or two gunshot wounds a year. It's a small town that happens to be alongside a major interstate and has gotten swept up in a wider crime and media event. Did you miss the earlier press conference with all the local jurisdictions represented. The general consensus on the thread was that the law enforcement officials handled the situation both professionally and articulately.
