Just reported. Took place outside of a Ponderosa Steakhouse. Not sure if it is related or not at this time. Police have shut down parts of I-95.

Well thank goodness for ABC TV7 reporting that roadblock. Now it will be much simpler for the sniper to avoid this.

Most Americans are too busy deciding which movie to rent from blockbuster, while their teenage kids are looking for someone over 21 to buy them some beer, to worry about, or even know what is going on in this world. If they keep their jobs and nobody shoots them or someone they know, they just don't see any reason to be concerned. Too many people only care about themselves and their family.

About the conditon "stable": means his vital signs are acceptable and do not predict impending death. In this case it probably means he hasn't lost enough blood to die. Shot through the back with an exit wound over the stomach could easily be a life threatenig wound, since the great vessels run right through that area; abdominal aorta, vena cava, and the renal and hepatic vessels. Something tells me this guy is very luck in that regard. Weren't the other wonds ( aside from the thirteen year old) head shots? LS, a freetired critical care nurse.

In light of all the stuff going on, and in light of the fact of a world-wide war with Muslim terrorists, I find it astounding that a discussion about rights. Our nation's history has multiple examples when civil rights were limited for a period of time so that the threat to the nation could be attended to.

Now, granted, such restrictions of rights should not be done rashly. But if any of us think that a fight on terrorism on our home turf will not result in significant restrictions of civil rights (at least for a time) that person has their head in the sand. Should their heads remain in the sand and should the nation value anything more than life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in the face of Muslim terrorists who would take away those things, then you best now begin getting fitted for the kind of head dress Arafat wears.

There is no greater right than the right to actually live--all others are meaningless if that one cannot be guaranteed.
