Hi, Sac. I asked my devout Catholic mother (she's still mad I didn't become a nun) who Michael was the patron saint of. Without missing a beat, she said policemen.

This is a summary from the Catholic Encyclopedia when I plugged in St. Michael the Archangel.

Christian tradition gives to St. Michael:

To fight Satan etc.

To be the Champion of God's people, the Jews in the old law, the Christians in the New Testament; therefore he was the patron of the Church and of the orders of knights during the Middle Ages.

It's an interesting dissertation and there is more..

Think about it. I've got one single thought in my mind now as to the significance of Michael.

Here's another interesting tidbit, St. Michael is also the patron saint of paratroopers as well as cops.
