PRESS CONFERENCE to begin...
To: TexVet
I saw an old forensic guy say (TV, last night) that 2-3 hours after they found the shell casing that they knew whether it was a 'match' or not. I wonder why we haven't been told anything yet?

I can just imagine that all questions re the box truck will be responded to with: It would be inappropriate to comment on that at this time.
To: antivenom
white box truck...no new info...will release info on Monday....geeez!

Another useless press conference by MOOSE MAN
To: CPL BAUM; antivenom
Best guess: 175 yardsThanks.
I think this makes it likely that antivenom is right. There has been no composite because no one has seen the shooter yet.
I now suspect that the witnesses who thought they saw someone may have seen someone they mistook for the shooter. The police may know that based on their forensic calculations of where the shots actually came from--which may be why there is no composite.
News conference starting now.

And Moose wonders why the press tries to go around their stone walls - why they don't cooperate???
To: mystery-ak
Why are they holding a press conference? They should have said 'nothing will be released' next press conference monday...geez!!!

I don't think he is.. the reporter seemed to make the corrolation /sp/ that a shell casing meant a crime was committed. Moose basically said that there was no evidence of a crime at the car rental company.
I think it's the press that are acting obnoxious. A crime investigation HAS to have somethings not available to the criminal.

I am surprised that the press doesn't just walk away during the conference
To: Dog
Another know-nothing press conference. I'm going to watch football. Actually I'm going to a Turkey Shoot at 1 pm. See y'all later tonight.
Last comment; they're not going to catch the shooters unless they shoot again IMO. Also, I think the seized truck will prove to be a false clue.

"I am surprised that the press doesn't just walk away during the conference." No kidding...this is a waste of time.

Obviously Moose and the LEO in general like to appear on TV. They should postpone at least 3/4 of these press conferences since they have nothing to say except to say that to answer that would be "inappropriate".
