Probably ordered in by Democrats - to be used in heavy Republican voting areas. Win at all cost.
Seriously. From Germany? What the.....?
Maybe the Islamic leader is right. Germany is now an Islamic country.
I hope it's just a load of cat litter or something.
Tell the FBI to park it in the East River beneath the UN building and have Kofi search it thoroughly.

Don't worry about it. The Democrats are sending Jimmy Carter out there to surrender. As long as the swamp rabbits don't get him...

I agree. If they have to unload to get to the cargo, unload the cargo in the middle of the Atlantic.

The US regularly imports thousands of tons of explosives into the US via container ship. Explosives are so cheap to manufacture that most are produced in the third-world due to razor thin commodity pricing. China and Latin American are major exporters of explosives to the US as I recall.

More than likely the story and the ship are a load of fertilizer.

More than likely the story and the ship are a load of fertilizer. This thread sure is. Sheese!

You CANNOT unload the vessel at sea! A container ship has no means to lift the boxes off the deck and out of the cells. Shoreside cranes must be used. If there were explosives onboard, they could be in a box at the very bottom of a cell containing six or eight boxes. The only way to unload it is to bring it into port where the gantry cranes are located.
Well, I guess you could always sink the whole thing out at sea.

I am watching a story on the case right now. The FBI is investigating a TIP. It is not correct to say, as you do in your headline, that the "FBI [is] escorting a ship loaded with explosives." Nobody knows if the tip is correct. Even if one of the containers on the ship does have explosives inside, your headline would still be wrong, since the entire ship itself is not "loaded with explosives." Besides, the highest probability is that the tip is bogus, either a prank by some irresponsible individual, or a deliberate attempt by al-Qaeda to create panic in the community.
Alarmist sensationalism is best left with mainstrean media. Let's not help al-Qaeda here on FR by getting ahead of a story and reaching conclusions before the facts are in.
