CNS News October 17, 2002:
National Ammo Day Targets 'Gun Grabbers' (CNSNews.com) - The organizer of National Ammo Day is calling on the nation's gun owners to "show the gun-grabbers and the nanny-legislators just how many Second Amendment supporters are out there." On Nov. 19, organizer Kim Du Toit wants 75 million gun owners to visit local gun shops, sporting goods or hardware stores -- and purchase every round of ammunition on the shelves. It would be great to see National Ammo Day listed on my calendar, but somehow I doubt it. Ditto for Bill of Rights Day (Dec. 15).
I just got my annual "month at a glance" calendar (for 2003), and you wouldn't believe all the new PC holidays listed. There are about 20 Mexican holidays, which include ones like Benito Juarez's birthday, Battle of Puebla day, Day of the Race, Day of the Dead, Revolution Anniversary Day, and the Virgin of Guadalupe Day.
And of course all Islamic "holy" days, which include al Adha, Muharram, Ramadam, and about 5 more.
Secretaries Day is now called "Administrative Professionals Day." The whole thing is just ridiculous.

If I actually owned firearms, that is. Oh, did you throw all your firearms into the ocean too? I know I did last time I heard Sarah Brady speak. Yep, no guns at my place, nosirree...
But that doesn't mean you can't buy ammo. I like to give it out at Halloween to the neighborhood kiddies in a caliber of their choice - pink primers for the girls, blue primers for the boys. You can also do what I do for interior decoration: stack the boxes and put slip-covers over them and use them for living room furniture...

< < Grrooooaaannnn > >... Please don't make me buy any more ammo. (That's the floor in my closet groaning, not me... My wife keeps telling me the floor is going to collapse.)
I do have 1-2K rounds of 55 grain .223 I need to *sell*, though - all my AR-15s have 1 in 7 twist, and now there's tons of cheap SS-109 around and Winchester has started selling commercial (non-AP, but who cares) 62-grain.
(why the hell did I buy that stuff... < < grumble > >...)

Knowing my luck I'd show up when the only thing left would be a box of .256 Winchester Magnum
Your store stocks .256 Winchester Magnum? Wow, I'm impressed. If only I hadn't given away that old Universal carbine...
there is a store that sells 100rds of Winchester 9mm 115g FMJ for $10. but we're supposed to be boycotting that store...

"Would 500 rounds of .308 and 1000 rounds of 7.62 X 39 be enough?"Depends on what your goals are. Considering that the gun-control freaks are hell-bent on controlling ammo, I intend to make sure that my son, and possibly his son have enough ammo to last a lifetime.
So I'm doing it... for the children.

Is it enough for the purchase for just one day? I promise to get more when I have the money!

Well, I was going to go out and buy some today but decided not to. I guess I'll have to wait until Tuesday.
Heck, maybe I'll just go Monday and avoid the crowds. That still makes a statement as it will still help empty the shelves!
