DJ Al-Qaida Man Claims To Have Seen Sniper Training -ABC

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--At least one member of al-Qaida now in custody has told U.S. investigators he witnessed training by three man sniper squads practicing to launch attacks on U.S. soil, ABC News reported Thursday.

The claim is made by an al-Qaida member being held for allegedly plotting to blow up the U.S. embassy in Paris, the report said.

The man was questioned by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation this week in Belgium, ABC News said.

While officials investigating the recent sniper attacks in the Washington D.C. area are looking into the possibility of a terrorist connection to the shootings, it isn't their leading theory, the network said.

ABC News and other news organizations have reported FBI agents are questioning some al-Qaida members held in Guantanamo, Cuba, about the possibility of a terrorist link to the sniper attacks.

Did this Al-Qaeda guy create this story before or after this story broke front page news. This Sniper story has been all over the World. He could have read this. I won't believe this until we have solid proof that this sniper is Al-Qaeda. They are notorious liars.

I certainly agree that they lie constantly, however--how much information are they getting while in Guantanamo? I wonder if they're able to get any at all. I wouldn't think our military would be keeping them up to speed on events, so if this guy said this, I'd want to know first if he's been kept in the dark about the shootings.

Otherwise, this might very well be legit.

Here in Oregon everyone is having "target practice" in remote areas (which is a lot better than conducting our exercises in non-remote areas), and yes a lot of us own an operate high powered rifles (it is hunting season). And yes there are quite a few ME type people living here (don't personally know any fundamentalists but I guess I'd have to ask about something like that).

What's your point?

I read one witness saw the getaway vehicle drive over the median of a closed-off highway. The driver operates a TAXI for his regular job. 'nuff said.

Do you really think they are sitting around watching the news and reading the New York Post? Sure the world knows about what is happening but news doesn't get out like some would think. In some of these countries they don't have as much as a radio let alone a tv. The majority of them can't read either.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If the guys at Gitmo said it I would tend to believe them a little more because they don't have access to the Newspapers or radio (I hope not). But then again, their info has been half and half.

I am watching O'Reilly right now and they have the "Son of Sam" Detective Joe Coffey and he said when they caught Son of Sam he had a machine gun in the back seat and when they interrogated David Berkowitz, he said that he was going to go to a Disco in the Hamptons and kill as many people as possible with that machine gun. I never knew that.
