UNICEF's world is unfit for children
The Observer ^ | 9/20/2002 | Charles Rice

The U.N. Child Summit convened in New York City last May to promote the welfare of children. Two intriguing concepts of child welfare emerged.

First, only a coalition of the United States, the Holy See and various Muslim and African nations prevented the inclusion of a right to abortion in the Summit's final action document, "A World Fit for Children."

Abortion, of course, protects children by killing them because they are not fit for the world. The Vatican and Muslim nations had acted together to oppose U.N. endorsements of abortion at Cairo and other conferences during the Clinton Administration.

The second odd concept of child welfare surfaced when it was disclosed at the Summit that UNICEF, the U.N. Children's Fund, had financed the 1999 publication and distribution by the Mexican government of a book called "Theoretic Elements for Working with Mothers and Pregnant Teens."

See the excerpt in the article from the book produced by UNICEF in Mexico, stating "some women like to have sex with men, and some women like to have sex with other women," then the reference to Carol Bellamy, friend of Hillary and head of UNICEF, and in-your-face lesbian.

Why, why, WHY does our country have to be associated with such an EVIL organization as the U.N.? Knowing that some of my tax dollars go to finance this international cesspool makes me sick!

Support Human Life International; they fight the Good Fight.

I've worked with HLI. I took a leave from my law firm and ran a Mormon NGO for three years that did the same kinds of things. That's why I know about Carol Bellamy.

Cool! I took leave from my tax job and had six kids (so far) and haven't gone back. But every year between Feb. and Apr. I have such a craving for 1040's.

I hope that the cooperation of the Christian and Moslem leaders on life issues is a very positive development in recent years, and is likely to facilitate the conversion of the Moslems.

Children don't want this kind of stuff - it's sicko adults that want to have sex with children (preteens, teenagers, minors, whatever) and pretend that it's good for the children.

Not griping at you, pankot, just at the Universe!

Interesting. Carol Bellamy was once the President of the New York City Council ("Board of Aldermen"). At the time she was rumored to be a lesbian, but certainly not of the in-your-face variety.

She also ran for Mayor.

My friend who runs International Right to Life says she was at a meeting at which Carol Bellamy was speaking, when she asked everyone to excuse her, she had to go home to her "wife." I'd say that's pretty in-your-face.

Indeed. But the City Council thing was about thirty years ago. Now she's "out".

Paul O'Dwyer (anyone remember him?) went from New York City Council President to some kind of UN sinecure as well. He also ran for Mayor (his brother had been Mayor). Not "gay" in any way of course.

Is NYC Council President a good career track for UN bureaucrathood? You be the judge.
