I thought my husband was kidding when he said it was on every single channel! It was weird though - The crawl on the bottom of the screen said that the "test" was going to last for an hour - but it was over in a couple of minutes.

Since multiple witnesses are indicating so many different details, perhaps the investigators are beginning to realize that they're dealing with coordinated, multiple shooters with different guns in a variety of vehicles.

Can't tell the public THAT!.......YET!!!

Your brief comment in reply to TShaunK's comment got me thinking. The DASH-7 from ARL program out of Ft. Bliss isn't going to be able to do much better video recon than a police or new chopper would. It does have significant ELINT, COMINT, AND SIGINT capabilities though. In a densely populated area, I'd think it'd be better suited for electronic eavesdropping than the Police birds.

I think what we are going to see now that it is common knowledge that we are going to employ these planes, is that the shootings will stop in the D.C. area. But what I am looking for, and I hope that I am wrong, is that shootings like this will start in another area of the country.

And I also think that this information about us deploying these planes should not have been released to the media, but LE doesn't seem to have a problem with that, but they sure got their shorts in a wad over the Tarot card.

Last week, our cable company ran that test FOUR times in one afternoon. Since 9-11, there have been more of these tests. I also suspect that they tend to run more if the news is bad. I have cable on my PC and I HATE when that thing goes off!
