The Houston Chapter is excited to announce our 1st Annual Gunpalooza and BBQ - aka GlocktoberFest. The range activities will be at The American Shooting Centers in far west Houston at George Bush Park.
Okay folks - it's time to Rock and Load!!
GlocktoberFest is scheduled for Saturday, October 26.
This will be a ton-o-fun-with-a-gun and a great opportunity to meet and greet your fellow Houston area FReepers.
Details, details, details. . .
- Shooting starts at 10:00
- Gun owners will pay the range fee of $6.00 for the first gun, $3.00 for each additional gun
- Gun owners will provide the ammo of their choice
- Non gun owners pay the $6.00 range fee
- Additional ammo and targets are sold in the range store
- Eye and ear protection is required. Shooters are asked to bring any extras they may have
We have decided against any match shooting for this time. This is more of a friendly get together and a chance to shoot a variety of guns.
After the fun on the range the Houston Chapter is hosting a feast for all that attend.
Menu
- Ribeyes
- Elgin and/or Chapel Hill sausage
- Pork ribs de bin Laden
- Cold boiled shrimp
- Potato salad
- Roasted corn on the cob
- Chips~n~dips
- Beer and sodas

Thanks for the generous invite - if flyer ever checks his freemail he can copy you with some questions like how long do you shoot, do I need to stay overnight, etc.
I'm hoping to be there. JL ;-)

This is sounding better and better.
What's the closest motel to the feast-grounds, in case we have too much fun? How many shrimp eaters are you currently expecting? Thanks, JL

I for one, am very relieved that this is not match shooting - I'm ashambed to admit how long it's been since I last visited a range - I guess just before the non-event of Y2K.
Maybe I could bring some two year old bottled water. ;-)

Even though I KNOW y'all are gonna be there, please RSVP to the email link. There will be some info I will want to email rather than post here for the attendees and I need to make a temporary list just for this event. Thanks.

Hey there, thank you for the invite! After 5 minutes of serious deliberation, I have to face reality - too short of notice this time around...bummer...
My brother and I always have a great time at the range shooting all our different guns. It's not hard to imagine what it would be like doing this with so many more people and with a larger variety of guns. And a cookout to boot! Here's hoping the weather's great for you all and the event turns out to be a blast! Happy shootin'!
To: lodwick
two year old bottled water One thing I got out of Y2k is that water does go bad, or at least flat. All of the oxygen seeps out. Water your plants with it.

The Ladysmith is a sweet rig - I've come so close to picking one up for myself.
If this works out like it should, the HAT chapter should be able to give plenty of notice for the spring shoot. ;-)
