North Korea Admits Nuclear Weapons Program
Fox News | 10/16/02 | Brytani

Breaking News on Fox

Fox has just confirmed North Korea has admitted to the United States that they have a secret nuclear weapons program. This breaks a treaty signed with the Clinton Administration, in exchange for N. Korea not having nuclear weapons, the US agreed to build non-lethal nuclear plants for them.

Once again, Clinton's treaties turn out to be worth as much as his word.

Confronted?? Hmmmm .. something is up

Yes the timing of this was intentional. I think it is sending a message not to get 'randy' while we are involved in the Middle East, but there may be more to this. I am looking for the original 94 treaty terms but cant locate them yet.

"Personally, I think North Korea is as much or bigger a threat than Iraq. Last I remember, NK has long range missile cababilites."

Certainly in a Chinese conflict, but not in the war on terror. To far removed geographically, ideologically, racially and culturally from the other players.

I remember someone defining a fanatic as one who increases the volume of his argument as reason eludes him.

Somehow your additional comments as to why you feel this way were cut off. Could you repost?

North Korea is intricately involved, I assure you sir, pan-geographically, pan-ideologically, pan-racially and pan-culturally with the other players. Do you have evidence to the contrary or a cogent argument that they are not involved in state sponsored terrorism in multiple continents with particuarly strong export capability to rogues in the Middle East?

Excuse my ignorance, but what does 'pan'-x mean. I've always took it to mean 'greater' or 'meta'.

Surely you're just having a bad day. I've always taken your posts to be very rational and coherent. When did I say they don’t export?

pan.... across, as in Pan Asia (all Asia) or Pan American Hwy. (across all of America).

pan geographics, pan culture means spanning geographics, spanning cultures, spanning ideology. ....and including all of those.

Believe me, North Korea through its diplomats, businesspeople, students, diplomatic missions, mariners, etc. has gone global in all aspects of their state-supported terrorism and crime, I am sure you would agree. Are you an apologist for them?

Feel free to show me what I said that would lead a rational person to conclude that I disagree.

Obviously, I should have read further into the thread before commenting. LOTS of good insight from AmericanInTokyo, maui_hawaii, and others here. This seems to be spooling up rapidly.

I am sure the administration had a game plan in mind when it went public with this. Once again, we will see who our friends and enemies really are by their responses to this. The world is rapidly moving back towards bipolar camps, only this time it is not east vs west, it is civilized and law abiding vs uncivilized and barbaric. Better to identify our friends and foes now.

Ah! Here you are. Getting back to our "informal" doctrine of preemption. I am of the opinion that the merely an attempt to construct WMD should be the trigger. Especially of the country attemption to construct such weapons is a communist country, with a history of human rights violations, with whom you have a negotiated cease fire.

If the US continues to allow rogue nations to join the "nuclear club" it only be a short matter of time before an accidental or intentional nuclear detonation occurs.
