More Fraud? - Oct 15 2002
The Dewey County Auditor says something smells fishy about the amount of absentee ballots being requested in her county.
Auditor Adele Enwright says this year she's seen an extremely large amount of requests for absentee ballots. She says the office has received 413 requests for absentee ballots- almost twice the amount she expected.
The 16-year auditor says she received one envelope from the Democratic Party that had 330 applications for absentee ballots in it.
Enwright says she contacted the party's attorney when she noticed several funny looking requests.
Enright says many of the ballots were marked absentee for the same reason, had names spelled differently from the signatures, contained similar scribble marks and were all requested within a few days of each other.
She also received a ballot request from a deceased woman, whose name was also used to request a ballot in Zeibach county.
Enright says the writing on the ballots looked very similar-but it's not unusual for someone to fill out the application and then have someone else sign it. She says right now the challenge is determining if the signatures are valid.
Democratic Party Spokesperson Sarah Feinburg says there is a logical reason so many ballots were received in one envelope. She says the independent contractors mail the ballot requests to the party. The party then sends them all at once to the respective auditor offices. She also says the party is only aware of four ballots applications in Dewey County that were being questioned. She says two of them were declared invalid.

There's no doubt Tom Daschle is desperate to keep that senate seat on his side of the aisle. A Thune win. Just think how that would bruise Daschle's ego. Winning this one is definitely worth the questionable practices going on by his personally appointed people. Aggressively seeking absentee voters! How bogus is that?
Even though she IS a democrat, she can't be that stupid to believe that this is anything but voter fraud. There is no other conclusion to make...she is covering up for a felon. Right?
