There was an ex-military sniper expert on Fox today. He said it was two domestic losers who make up this sniping team. That all their shots are not difficult ones. That they are sniper wanabees who could never hack it in our armed forces as a sniper.

He said their forte was planning and planning for escape.

Well, I guess that makes a guy who creeps up to within 150 or so yards of the victim, makes a one-shot kill, and gets away clean somehow less of a sniper?

This guy is 9 for 11 kills, has hit a target with every shot except one, and is still shootin'. That's as good as any military sniper could do it, and this "expert" is an ass.

I heard him too and found him to be a bit close-minded. I will trust that while LE probably has a specific profile in mind, they aren't limiting their thinking as this guy seemed to be. He might turn out to be right (team of 2 young - mid twenties - white guys playing sniper) but it seems unwise to rule out anything at this point, unless of course LE is sitting on some definitive info, which I hope and pray they are. Keep the media in the dark as much as possible, please guys.

I agree with all of this except for two points:

1. They aren't necessarily "domestic".
2. There may be more than two of them.
