MSNBC says AK-74....
MSNBC

Posted on 10/15/2002 4:13:51 PM PDT by fooman

MSNBC says that the terrorist used an AK-74. That and the fact the AP witness says that this guy looked Middle Eastern(MSNBC left this out), plus the story about two 'hispanics' at an earlier strike.

Plus the elusivisness and meticuluous planning of this group...

"On this point, I have seen surprisingly little 'milking' of the gun control issue - except for the attempt to push the 'bullet finger-printing' idea ...

You've got to be kidding. They've been holding those guns up for all the world to see. Knowing full well most folks are afraid of guns period. They know the score. They know the ballistic fingerprint stuff is garbage for anything other than to collect a few, a handfulof idiots. It's a big jobs program and a database leading to confiscation. Bush is the only one that spoke up for American gunowners. The other guys didn't. On the first day they were out there asking folks to call in on anyone with a gun. All the qualification given was that it be a rifle. They held up gun cases too, telling folks to let them know if anyone has one of those.

They had a case early on. If that matched the fragments then they definitely knew. Holding out on a something that essentially eliminated most of the folks the media was hinting at amounts to an insult on the good name of good number of Americans. Historically American's are well behaved and good natured. They took sides, kept quite and played a sneaky little game on behalf of the grabbers. They could have put in a good word, but didn't.

"We have a very brazen individual out to prove a point - and he *is* proving it..."

The only thing I see proven is that, as always, sniper tactics work against any and all govt. capabilities, even those of a superpower.

Next time someone disparages the second amendment with the stupid argument with 'how can one man take on the US govt?' I shall remind them of the success of the current shootist.

Or did you have some other "point" in mind?

Nope, no other point - you pretty much said it all ...

But I will add this - it also underscores how it takes the observance by all of us of those precious rules of civility in order to make this world livible and not a hell-hole where we have to run and duck for cover when buying gasoline ...

A point? They have objectives. What is their objective besides killing people? That they can do it?

Why did he let the woman see him last night? He knew she was there, yet he stepped out of his Astro and shot the woman off in the distance. Jihadists usually go for the big time kill. This could be the start of an endless tag team of killers, but with the shutdown of large areas the jihadists could setup for the shutdown to occur in the jaws of a trap.

Presumably one could paint the "orange banana clip" when one has a need for camouflage.

"That's not milking an issue."

They said nothing good about American gun owners while doing it and they know very well most folks are afraid of them and they are afraid of being shot. The people they were addressing fearlessly drive at the speed limit into heavy fog. They milked it.

It's cause the boys in F-Troop are either incompetent, or liars. That or they are both.

But hey, folks around here have long known that F-Troop is shot through with not just incompetents, and not just liars, but incompetent liars as well.

Why those clowns are even trusted to carry cap pistols, let alone real firearms is beyond me....

Hell, F-Troop isn't even qualified as a record keeping arm of the Federal Government. By there own admission, up to 30% of their Class III records are incorrect, yet they routinely encourage newly hired Agents to lie in court.

The only thing those morons are (marginally) competent to do is affix tax stamps to whiskey bottles and cigarette packages. They shouldn't be permitted to be within a thousand yards of real Law Enforcement investigators investigating a real live Crime Scene.

Regards,

L

spunkets, at the end of the day, all we "officially" know is only what has been reported in the mass media.

Personally, I've lived long enough by now to have developed a certain skepticism when it comes to any media accounting of publicly devastating events, especially when such refer to open investigations.

There are many reasons why official sources might want to conceal and restrict the kinds of information that reach the public.

I would merely like for you to entertain that possibility in the present case. Then, if you still come up with a different scenario, please feel free to take your best shot. In the end, I'm certain the truth will be manifestly obvious, if only by virtue of hindsight. All in due course.

They said nothing good ...

You're beating a dead horse on this friend.

What they're doing is *not* milking ... somehow, you've got this knee-jerk reaction everytime something objective is mentioned.

Count your lucky stars - we COULD have hoards of democratic house members decrying the need for more 'gun control on every other sound bite coming out of Washington!

Get real man and get a grip! You're losing it!

But how good is it as a sniping weapon?

Maybe he likes the option of having full-auto available if he needs it.

That's what they should have pointed out when they were in front of the cameras. They should have said something akin to that. It also works to make those that might be tempted to fly off the handle and resort to some criminal action realize they live in a fine country.
