I seem to remember reading about technology that could detect a gunshot and pinpoint the location in a matter of seconds. Maybe they are trying to locate the shooter more quickly so that they can seal off the area and trap him.

Well, I guess that would increase police response to his next victim by what, 30 seconds?? Could be as much as 4 to 5 minutes depending on how soon a 911 call is made, how fast the call is answered and how fast the dispatcher can make the radio call.

Whatever happened to the militia? I'm thinking if would be criminals, thugs, terrorists, knew that good law abiding citizens were armed to the teeth rather than stripped of their 2nd amendment rights these cretins of satan may just have to think about it before entering into the zone of criminality.

I've heard about this technology recently. Any idea where I could find more info? It sounds impressive. There's an outfit in Mountain View, CA called ShotSpotter, Inc. that's marketing their gunfire location system worldwide.
I think there are some other companies overseas that also offer this technology.

Glenspending ain't brilliant.

not only is my governor an idiot... but his words will probably provoke a multi-county attack...

That's fine, but where is the evidence that there are recreational shooters or hunters shooting in suburban parking lots? Are there gun ranges nearby that would throw off the sensors? Isn't it illegal to discharge a gun in developed areas (where the shooter has exclusively operated)? Are hunting areas anywhere near the shooting locations and similar locations where the shooter might operate? A long and valid string of questions, indeed, but so far I'm not commenting on the wisdom, stupidity or legality of the governor's order, just speculating as to what it may signify. I know they're desparate to stop these killings, so I would be surprised if they left any option unexplored.
This order may be motivated by an interest on the part of law enforcement in reducing the number of false alarms a gunfire-locator system might report, or, granted, there may be another reason altogether.

You're an ______. Fill in the blank. Do people hunt in the burbs in your area?

Glad I'm in Texas, that would not be allowed to transpire here. Folks would start a revolution.

So if some crackhead kicks in your back door, what are you supposed to do, use harsh language? Call Dianne Feinstein.

Anyone want to bet that there will be a bill introduced in the Maryland legislature to extend this ban "indefinetly"?
To: Alas Babylon!
This has to be one of the most idiotic things I've
ever read about a politician doing.
Instead of urging Free men and women to take up arms to defend themselves and their neighbors, he responds with this? Unbelievable.

"How does Glenspending propose deer should be killed?"On the hoods of speeding cars!
To: Robert_Paulson2
Does that include backfiring cars? I know it's maybe not a problem in the desert, but in many urban areas, it happens thousands of times a day. This is an end game alright.
