Virginia, I believe, still has the death penalty. A couple of these shootings happened in Virginia.

The "death penalty" shouldn't even be an issue here.

If the sniper or snipers in this case turn out to be Middle Eastern, there should be no arrests, trials, or anything of that sort. This country gave a very clear indication that it was not serious about fighting terrorism back in 1993 when the WTC bombers were arrested instead of "offed" without a trace.

The U.S. government continues to operate in this fashion even after 9/11 -- witness the arrests all over the world that have been proudly announced periodically over the last year.

This isn't a freakin' "war on terror" -- it's "The People's Court" in Arabic.

We have and we use it, although if I remember correctly, our carpetbagging DimRAT Guv. floated a few trial ballons to see if it would get any votes if he put a moratorium on it like the leftists in MD. He won't touch it now though.
