D.C. Terror Team?

Who is doing these random 'snipings' in and around our nation's capital?
The media is of course focusing on a 'Son of Sam' type solo, deranged nutball. And maybe they are right. FBI profilers have become frequent TV Talking Heads opining on who this shooter is.
Yet lost in the clutter is the report that "two men" were seen driving away from the latest gas station murder in Manassas, Va. Two men changes this crime radically.
Two men means a conspiracy and it also means planning, talking, debating and some sort of direction and chain of command.
Now, let us consider something: Is it mere coincidence that, just as D.C. is approving a massive war on Iraq, D.C. and its surrounding bedroom communities are terrorized by murderous snipings?
If these murders were happening in Boise or Seattle or Chicago, we could easily ascribe them to some domestic nutcase. But this is a systematic campaign to go to the heart of our nation's capital and almost exactly one year after the anthrax mailings also sent D.C. into a lockdown.
If you look at a map of the Washington, D.C., area, these murders are taking place both in the city itself and also in a systematic pattern around the beltway. The killings are almost completing a circle around D.C. where most people live.
Just as the FBI immediately 'steered' its anthrax investigation to a 'domestic mailer,' so, too, has law enforcement focused on a deranged psychopath like David Berkowitz. We hear virtually nothing from the federal officials about a Mideast connection here.
A year later and the feds haven't caught the anthrax mailer.
Three years after the arrival of West Nile virus in New York right across the East River from the U.N., where sanctions were approved that crippled Saddam's income we still have no clue how it got here. Yet officials are wary about accusing Saddam and his battery of evil scientists.
This author was first out of the gate claiming that it was "no coincidence' that West Nile virus was here. I continue to believe Saddam was and is trying to hurt us in any way he can without leaving a return address.
The ongoing D.C. killings may very well be yet another terror tactic from Baghdad aimed at inflicting pain on a people who are voting for regime change in Baghdad.

I hate to say this, but the news networks sure as heck don't want to give any credence at all to the idea that the beltway slayings could be Jihadists. It remains to be seen whether law enforcement at the federal or local levels share that reluctance, but, judging from the host of retired FBI psychobabble profilers who seem to dismiss the idea of terrorism so easily, I have to believe that the Fed bureaucracy does not want this to even be considered terrorism...
All the TV news media and Feds want to believe is that this has to be some right wing gun owner and they want to focus the attention on "fingerprinting" firearms so we would "know" who is doing this right away.
My prediction is that the perps are going to stop the attacks as suddenly as they started them at some point and just fade away...and the FBIBATFSECRETSERVICE, etc. are never going to get anyone. However, some poor ex-marine will be hung in effigy in the media (like we saw yesterday) as a likely suspect a la Jewel and Hatfill.
It's what they did with the anthrax cases...hell, judging from his speech, not even President Bush believes that Hatfill is behind the anthrax attacks. This is al Qaeda and the fact that they are able to do this in the DC area with almost total impunity illustrates that the FBI, etc. are as incompetent as ever. Eventually, the terrs will end this operation and the FBI will somehow attempt to take credit for it.

The Liberal media is guilty of racial profiling and jumping to conclusions in this case w/out any hard evidence to back up the theories they are floating to the public. It's ironic that they refuse to racially profile Arab males for crimes involving terrorism. This D.C. sniper very well could be Islam-related.

"The killings are almost completing a circle around D.C. where most people live."And I think the question needs to asked that how many people who live in these suburbs work for the Federal government? And how long before many of these people start becoming afraid to go to work in the morning?

So you are conceding that as we get ready to invade Iraq to make the world safe from Saddam, just maybe we should raise the priority of protecting American citizens?

So by your logic American citizens are not part of the "world" that we are making safe from Saddam. I'd love to see the contract Saddam signed that evidences his intent to never assist Islamic terrorists in their efforts to acquire WMDs.

I caught a few minutes of fox and friends this morning. They had a guest wrote a book 'War against America' or something like that. She was ex-Klinton advisor on Iraq. She said Iraq and Bin Laden ABSOLUTLEY connected, CIA covering it up to protect their careers. Klinton didn't want Iraq to be tied to binny.
This seems so IMPORTANT , yet I haven't seen any mention of it here on FR this AM. Maybe someone with time to research the book can post it?

So many have missed the point. ...Police, Feds, and Media wont' ever say it's terrorism. They can't because it would be a detriment to their real agenda, and that is passing eventual legislation aimed at disarming American Citizens. IMO this IS DEFINITELY a terrorist tactic of middleeastern origin.

I think the frequency of the shootings leads me to believe that this is different from the lone nut serial killers we've seen in the past. Two of those shootings were within an hour. It looks more organized and supported than a one-man crime spree.

Planes crashing into buildings, anthrax in the mail, snipers in DC...and you are worried about weapons of mass destruction?
The welfare/warfare state rolls on...

Saddam has poison gas, anthrax and all kinds of other devils brews, not to mention a nuclear program and perhaps "dirty" bombs already.
Taking him out is and should be a top priority in protecting American citizens.
Unless of course you're Pat Buchannan it doesn't fit in with your agenda.

This has to be the most moronic statement that I have ever seen on Free Republic:
"Planes crashing into buildings, anthrax in the mail, snipers in DC...and you are worried about weapons of mass destruction?
The welfare/warfare state rolls on..."
Put some medical radioactive waste on one of the 9-11 airliners and the casualties would still be mounting today. You bet we're worried about weapons of mass destruction. If you're not, get your head out of the sand and wake up.

I saw a report on another thread that people saw what they thought was a "spotter car" with two men in the parking lot at the Home Depot, cruising around for a while before the shot. The car was described as a dark sedan with a unspecified "religious sticker". They are also looking for a white or cream colored Chevy Astro Van.
If these reports are accurate, we have a larger conspiracy. With at least four people (two spotters, driver and shooter). This is looking more and more like an organized conspiracy.
So, who would be working in an organized fashion to do random killings in the Washington DC area? What group would be so disciplined, merciless and fanatical that it could do this without internal leaks leading to their arrest and capture?
Gotta be terrorists.

Yes, that's her.
There is another thread running about Fox and I posted a link to the book at amazon.
My html skills are very crude. I think what she said may be very important. I was hoping someone more experienced than me would post a dedicated thread to the book.
