Anyway, I do not remember being told definitively that the shooter(s) are using the exact same weapon for every shot. Well, I'm certainly no expert (I know, when has that ever stopped me before!) but I thought when ballistics matched, that means it's the exact weapon, not just the same type bullet. I think it means the markings made by the bullet passing through the chamber are the same if ballistics match.
And isn't that what they keep saying about these, that the ballistics match? Isn't that what's going on? Anybody know differently?

You were asking about protection for people with some sort of covering or barriers at gas stations, etc.
My sister said the Montgomery County PD headquarters is protected like this. She said a fence has been erected with some kid of covering and all you can see sticking out of the top are some kind of towers or antennas or something. I'm guessing, with all the news conferences (police and newspeople) they don't want to be sitting ducks.

For example, I just found this:
"Dear Mr Policeman" is popular in Singapore
This is a series of five workbooks on crime prevention for students in Primary 4 (Year 4) to Secondary 2 (Year 8). The books were launched together with the Ministry of Education in 1986 as part of the school curriculum in social studies. They were not examinable subjects. The objective of the series is to foster awareness of crime prevention in the young students, impress upon them, the dire consequences of crime and provide an insight into Police work. The series include a teacher's handbook.
and with children
Dear Mr. policeman I m sorry that some of the policemans lost same of thei lives. Im sorry that you had to go backe and forward im sorry that you had to get the dogs out.

You think so. I started with "adventure". No graphics, just text. This was way before pc's. Got hooked anyway.
xyzzy (Somebody out there knows what this does.) I still remember it from maybe 20 years ago. I think it would transport into another part of the cave.

I personally think she just happened to be in the wrong place. I don't think these guys know any of the victims.

Just flipping around the tv and CNN reported that at three different locations witnesses reported a suspect as dark skinned, either middle eastern or hispanic. I guess that was obvious after the State Dept. got involved.Shep Smith said that when they come back from commercial Rita Cosby will tell us what her sources are saying.
This morning she stressed that it was not an olive skinned man but a white man. The way she stressed this made my eyebrows go way up.
I'll see what she's saying now, but it was contrary to other reports (like her USSC report?).

I think it means the markings made by the bullet passing through the chamber are the same if ballistics match. From another non-expert: it means the exact barrel. Most of the time that means the exact weapon. Although with something like a Thompson Contender (see Thompson Contender) you can switch barrels.

That may be evidence that this is another al Qaeda attack. Isn't it something, I/m not sure which side of the argument I was on...
To: aristeides
Rita Cosby just said she was a mother of two that had survived breast cancer.

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I have to work for a living ;0)
Anyway, I take it you've never seen those little stickers some military guys have that read "GIhad in America"... as in GI... aka "G.I"...?????
To: cyncooper
Hm, Rita Cosby saying officials think there may be more than one shooter and are putting together a profile.
I realize many have thought for a long time there was more than one shooter, please realize I am only typing what RC is reporting.

You're watching Fox.
Did you hear the report from David Lee Miller that the Gov. of Maryland, Glendenning, is going to sign an executive order tomorrow prohibiting all firearms being discharged for recreational use?
To: spycatcher
Whoa. Good find. Wonder if the committee is aware of your info.
To: cyncooper
Yes, I heard it. I heard something about gun banning and hunting but I didn't hear every word.

Did you hear the report from David Lee Miller that the Gov. of Maryland, Glendenning, is going to sign an executive order tomorrow prohibiting all firearms being discharged for recreational use? Why is it that we haven't heard that Kennedy Townsend had Glendening put the death penalty on Hold a month ago, while they see if it is fair.

I have whole CD full of those old text-based adventure games, such as the one you mentioned ('Cavern', iirc)

There's a guy talking to Chris Core on WMAL now (who wants the test extended to long-barreled weapons) who keeps confusing the test identifying the weapon and it identifying the shooter. I guess the confusion is deliberate, as it advances his case.
To: valleygal
Would you still say that if it turned out she was working the sniper case?
To: OReilly
It is 4 counties or so, I think. Just so political... Towsend should get credit for this with the hunters and target shooters.
To: valleygal
And isn't it strange if the story is true that the sniper this time fired from a distance of 30 feet? That would be a big change in MO.
