That would argue for absolute terrorism, Bush 43 lives in downtown DC. He was elected in a year divisible by 20 - beginning with Wm. Henry Harrison, every President elected in a year divisible by 20 has died in office or has had an attempt made on his life... Before Reagan, every President in a year divisible by 20 since 1840 died in office...I hoped that President Reagan had broken that curse by surviving....

Our family has been looking at the Table that brigette put together for FR.com. We said last night that the next victim (praying that there wasn't going to be one) would be white. If you follow the victims ethnicity since Victim #5 you will note the victims alternate between light and dark. And, I propose the Indian man and Hispanic woman might have been mistaken for black instead of Indian and Hispanic. If the sniper was far enough away he would not have been able to tell ethnicity. So, if there is another shooting (GOD forbid) it may be a person of color (black or supposed black).

Only problem with the terror angle is this (IMHO): if it were a terror operation, the shooters should have moved to Chicago, or Denver, or SanFran for this week's activity. That way we'd know we are not safe ANYPLACE in the country. That's the best argument why it isn't Al Qaeda. With the number of people involved in 9/11, they could field ten assasination squads in ten major metropolitan areas and invest in high powered rifles and nondescript delivery vans instead of high priced, attention attracting flying lessons. Of course, on the other hand, maybe this is just a test run to perfect the model ...

Sadly, they don't seem to have anything.....Again...... They aren't going to have anything as long as this continues in the same manner; a sudden single shot, little or no report, a victim slumps for no apparent reason, people rush to her aid, find her dead and then become concerned for their own safety and seek shelter.
After a bit of time passes uneventfully, those who scattered re-gather and "compare notes", repressed memory takes over and white (now cream-colored, sodium vapor lights?) vans career out of the woodwork and the pot-load is long gone again.

>>What's the fastest way out of Fairfax County from Seven Corners?<<
Take Route 7 north to I-66, about one mile but a lot of lights.
Second fastest, take Route 50 west to I-495, about four miles but fewer lights.
Hard to say which is faster. This is NOT convenient to the Interstates.

And the perp probably had no idea....until the COPS TOLD HIM ABOUT IT!!! They're so helpful. I'm sure that little problem will be rectified by morning.
I want Bullwinkle back. He funny.

Aye, and this time they disappear rather uncomfortably close to DC.

I think this guy is getting reckless. Its becoming frenzied killing. He's making mistakes. More witnesses this time. He's losing it. This is a serial killer, maybe with olive skin.

Why do they do this? Because there'd be a huge public outcry if they didn't at least say something. I know that I wanna know anything they're willing to say, given the fact that I live in Fairfax County, about ten minutes from the Manassas shooting. Sure, they say nothing, but really, what do they know at this point? I would imagine that the witness questioning, for instance, will take hours in order to be really thorough. And it's true that the more they hold close to the vest, the better for the investigation - at least in terms of evidence found on the scene, if not the information about vehicle/suspect descriptions.
We get upset if the media says too much - "it spurs the killer on!" and we get upset if they say nothing. I agree that it's entirely excessive to have Moose giving press conferences at which nothing new is said every three hours, but having a press conference just to let everybody know, "Hey, we're here, we're working it, we think it may be related, but we can't give you any more information at this time both because it's too soon and because such information may need to be kept under wraps" is not unreasonable, says this local girl who just wanted the police to touch base after this event.

The D.C. area is a fine target for al Qaeda's purposes. It works as well as any of the others from a logistical point of view and, hell, it's the nation's capital, if it isn't safe then what is? That's the essence of the terrorist's message.
To: Old Professer
Again, I don't mean to repeat, but how can they have a description of a vehicle, if they don't even have a direction of travel.......??
To: Kip Lange
so did bush...
they tried to kill him on 9/11
To: aristeides
If the driver knows the area well, they could hit the Chain Bridge in ten minutes from there at that time of night.

I go to Michael's stores quite a bit. They usually are in very close proximity to a main thouroughfares as well. Usually have signage right off of freeways.

To: cynwoody
This is a small-scale operation because its purpose is to act as a threat to our government, like the anthrax.
