...Chaffee has promised to "pull a Jeffords"...

I would like to think that there would be consequences to statements like this. If the 'Pubbies maintain a majority, Chaffee's duties in the Senate should be limited to picking up the take-out lunch--and that only with supervision.

OTOH, Lott will probably reward him with a committee chairmanship.

If Louisiana can hold Landrieu under 50% then their run off won't be until Dec. 7.....

...IF they'll even finish in November...

You have a point there.

Yeah, unless the polls show Talent with more than a 5% lead on election day, I'll consider it a toss-up, since the fraud factor needs to be added in. In 2000, Gore won almost every state where he was behind by less than 3.5% in the last pre-vote polls.

I think the Dems have a much better chance of taking the House than Repubs have of taking the Senate.

Not crazy about Talent, but it can't be bad to see Carnahan go, so ... go Talent!

Also, rememebr, even if the GOp retakes the Senate, the Democrats in Republican clothing will vote with the Dems, so the GOP needs to take back the Senate by a wide margin.

I agree, but at least he's a tally in the (R) column!

I agree with everything you said, but we must hit back hard on social security in a number of races. Soon.

Unless President Bush were to call them in for a special emergency session. Not that he would do such a blatant political maneuver, though.

Really.... You may want to check up on that.... The Sep. Zog poll used "likely" voters according to the press release.

Someone here on FR mentioned that the Chief Justice of Missouri is none other than David Limbaugh. While the lower courts may be able to obstruct, I doubt they will get away with any NJ type shenanagans.

Yep something may happen that would require an emergency session but that's not an assured event at this time.

Encouraging article, but we both know that if we do not have ads on TV, we have no chance to correct the record. Certainly no one in the major news media is going to tell the truth, and no marginal voter reads any more.

"But first, don't you think the 'pubbies will want to set up some kind of power-sharing system?"

LOL!
Certainly they will - if Little Trentie is in charge!

Generally, once you see this stuff in print, the highlights make into Politicians cuff remarks, as well as prepared statements......

Nope, not David, but Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., first cousin to Rush.

Further, the Most Powerful HBomb style argument for Privatization hasn't even been made yet. But It wont stay unused forever. The Pubbies took a stb at it already but backed down over the Ad tone.

Once it starts getting hammered home that the Average Life expectancy for a Black Man, today, is 66.1 years, The Dems are finished.

How can they expect to win a race for DOG CATCHER, once Black men start asking why they work for 50 years, and never see, or pass on, A dime.....

You're right. President Bush still isn't convinced, apparently, that the Dims are unrepentent evil.
