I looked at the finalists for the Pentagon Memorial... I must not have an artists eye. I think they're all pretty ugly, to be truthful. I prefer simple things; a marker with a brief "history" of what happened and the names of those killed by the terrorists; with a promise to never allow something similar to happen again. Ever.

Really? Wow. I loved each and every one of them. Benches for each victim is fairly simple. Or that abstract pedestal that you stand on with the names of the victims about you . . . . I think the presentation boards look cluttered but over the space of the actual memorial site, most of these won't be cluttered.
