I haven't seen anything to suggest that he isn't doing as good as anyone could under the circumstances. The many federal agencies on this case haven't cracked it either.

Well if anyone else butchered the english language like this guy does, people would be screaming.. He can't pronouce th.. and I can't concentrate on what he says because of it. It distracts me.

My husband said he may have a speech impediment but I think it just plain sloppy or lazy english for a professional to be using.

At the beginning of this sniper spree, for lack of a better term, I wondered a bit about Moose's abilities. But after watching the man come out daily to talk to the press - and telling them that he hadn't much new to tell them - I have grown to respect him quite a bit more. He continues to face the press and public, even knowing that so many are mocking and ridiculing him, demanding that he "do something" to solve the case.

Well, he is limited in what he can do, as are the myriad federal agencies and investigators who are also hard at work on the case. There aren't too many clues to work with, and I believe that they all are doing the best that they can. Short of a cop being in the right place at the right time ( a very lucky break) I do not think that anyone will have much luck in solving it, and that includes you, RBA.

Chief Moose may well have a history of PC policing in Portland, and he may well be a bleeding heart Democrat, too. And of course, everyone is familiar with his regional dialect, as evidenced by the increasingly tiresome mention of same.

Moose is from small-town North Carolina, and he has an accent and diction that distinguish him as not being a big-city guy, or an Ivy-Leaguer. Is that such a big problem to everyone? It shouldn't be. If you would take the time to listen to the man and what he is saying, I believe that you would judge him as an intelligent man. He's an Andy Taylor in the big city, but that doesn't mean he's an idiot

GW Bush has a regional accent, and he has a way of mispronouncing words, too. The Democrats enjoy calling him an idiot because of that. Just something to think about before you come out and flame a man who, in my opinion is doing as good as anyone else would be doing, considering the circumstance of the crimes.

Oh well, I will stick with my opinion of the Moose from living in Portland during his time there and knowing people on the force. I guess this person thinks that I am slamming moose over his speech, or abilities, or whatever, when I am not the one bringing his perosnality into it at all. I said somewhere else on Fr that Moose would do well to call in the Boulder PD.
