First off, congratulations to Oklahoma. Watched a little bit of that game and the running back was amazing to say the least.

On another note < clearing throat>, I seem to remember watching a game this afternoon between NC State and Orange County Community Tech. What say you guys? How about that PACK!!! Would that be 7-0? Why I think it would!! LOL While we're not on the level of the SEC and other conferences yet, I see with Amato's coaching, NC State will in a few years be at least closer.

Is Quentin Griffin a cool guy or WHAT? Ran like that in the 1st quarter, got sick on the sidelines, came back in the 3rd quarter for the game of his life. Picked up that fumble as gentle as if it was a baby and took it in for a touchdown. To paraphrase Barry Switzer, the guy plays ten feet tall. Next year, it'll just be someone else's turn to be the hero.

Yeah, but Nate played well enough to win. I really appreciated Stoop's remarks after the game. What he said was to the effect that it was a team win, and when you're playing an excellent defense you're just going to have some tough moments.

Well, it's a good thing it's a free country and people can go to skool wherever they choose! Think of all the young guys from Texas who wouldn't have the privelege of playing for OU!

Although I am now a OU football fan exiled to the Left Coast, there just ain't NUTHIN'
like that Red River Shootout in Dallas. I went to the State Fair on game day
and even I didn't get to go to the game...it was a great controlled riot!

And I enjoyed it this Texas-Sized Spectacle...even if Texas won that year!

Please...we've lost that annual Thanksgiving weekend bash with Nebraska...we can't
lose the Red River Shootout.

My wife and I attended OU in the early '70's. This was during the reign of the Selman brothers. Those guys ruled the line and Texas didn't stand much chance. For normal games, it was a moral victory for the other team to even score until the 3rd quarter.

Coming back from the Dallas game one person had a sign in the back window of their car: "Thank you Mrs. Selman!" :)

I thought Stoops was his usual class act after the game. Nate did play well enough to win and when Nate talked he made absolutely no excuses. What can you say about "Q" except awesome! And Tommy Harris played great -- he had been hurt. Then we got Woolfolk back for this game!

As for the Longhorn fans thinking anything would make Bob Stoops become a Longhorn coach -- I am sitting here laughing my head off. Bob is the highest paid college coach in America and no one that wears Crimson and Cream like Bob would ever go to Austin. Why would he go there when he beats Texas the last three years? That is too funny! Just like he chose the Sooners over Florida! Watching the Florida game, I would say he made a wise choice! LSU is clobbering them.

Did you hear before the game when the Sooner buses were winding their way through the Fairgrounds that Texas fans were pounding on the side of the bus and Mike Stoops gets right up the window with the Hook Em Horns upside down. Kind of set the tone for our defense today!

I heard something about the welcome our guys got in Dallas, but nothing specific. I happened to see on Fox & Friends one day the week before last, E.D. told Senator Nickles that Texas was going to win! I'm gonna have to tune in Monday A.M.!

Great game. I guess this means we're about to hear a lot of apologies to Texas fans, claims that Texas should be Big 12 South co-champions, and excuses about fluke plays costing the 'Horns the game.

Mack Brown probably isn't as bad of a coach as his detractors claim, but at some point he should look like he has a clue on the sideline instead of just standing there staring blankly out onto the field. Maybe he's content to just wait for Bob Stoops to move to Gainesville after the "Gator Nation" grows weary of Ron Zook's mediocrity. But until he starts showing more intensity on the field, Brown should expect his teams to be consistently be outplayed by the Sooners, who always rise to the occasion.

Right after Stoops shows the world that he's the man with the grapefruits - no, make that cantaloupes - by going for two at the end of the first half, Mack shows himself to be the man with the BBs by taking a knee at midfield immediately afterward. Even a pass-interference penalty at that point results in a makeable FG attempt. If his QB's psyche is so fragile that one more INT will ruin him, then it's time to find a new QB. Football is not a game for passivity, and that's why Mack Brown will be waiting awhile for that elusive Sears Trophy.

Heck, right now I'd settle for mediocrity. Zook is an embarassment. I hope the Bull Gators are already getting up a collection to buy out his contract.

The odds are decent that people will be telling you the same thing next week.

The Big 12 Conference did no favors for OU and UT by setting them up with Iowa State and K-State, respectively, next weekend. I have been predicting a KSU victory over UT since the season's beginning, but now Iowa State seems to be in a good spot to catch the Sooners "flat". Plus, Seneca Wallace is a bit better than Brad Smith, and we all know what the Mizzou freshman did to the Sooners last week. Just imagine OU's offense with Wallace at the helm...

Fortunately, the Cyclones should be in the top 10 next week, so an OU victory is pretty much guaranteed since Stoops is 10-1 against such foes.

As a Gator I now understand what OU went throught when John Blake was their coach.

As bad as you might feel about your current coach, I don't think anyone outside of Oklahoma can appreciate how truly pathetic the John Blake era was. At least Zook appears to have a plan for how he wants to run his team. Blake's philosophy seemed to change weekly, and sometimes during games.

In Blake's defense, he was getting extraordinary pressure from impatient administrators and alumni to win and win NOW, but some of his moves were downright baffling. He was like a ship without a rudder, and the team's lack of direction resulted in three terrible seasons and left OU fans yearning for the "good old days" of the Gary Gibbs era. Gibbs could at least consistently beat OSU, after all.

There's a reason that Spurrier left Florida now, and it's the same reason that Stoops declined the job. The pantry isn't very well-stocked in Gainesville at the moment. Give Zook time before you turn on him. I seriously doubt he will prove to be as inept as John Blake.

I do have to credit John Blake's recruiting skills though. He left the roster well-stocked for Bob Stoops, who proved that scheming and discipline will win a lot of football games whereas talent alone will win some.
