see post #40...also think about how dominant the Florida teams have been in the last 10+ years.
To: Skooz
Florida and F.S.U are tied for the most players in the N.F.L
To: ItisaReligionofPeace
Like everyone else, Florida teams recruit from all over the country, including Texas.

For about ten years, Grambling had more players in the NFL than any other school.

Although I like ND, I find it incredible how often the opposing teams have fumbled -- and odd fumbles at that. Makes me wonder if
angels are on the side of Notre Dame
effect of prayer
a rich booster is greasing some palms
ND defense is exceptionally intimitating

Yeah, that's one of the two reasons these OU losses just burn me up(and probably most Longhorns). It would be one thing to lose to Oklahomans, but to lose to a team that is half Texas traitors, oh my achin' head. UT-A&M is brother versus brother, but UT-OU is us versus the infidel! The other salt in the wounds is that stupid downturned hook'em signs. We have a positive hand symbol of our team and pride, all they have is a negative bash of their opponent.
But I don't want that coming off as sour grapes. Oklahoma is a great conservative state, with good values and good people. And their team has beaten our butts 3 years in a row, are better coached, and thus have been the better team for 3 years in a row, with a nat'l championship on top of that.
I think Mack is safe for another two years, unless he loses ugly in this game again next year, or the team loses 4 more games this year. He needs to show that he's learned from prior mistakes by showing more aggressivenessm, preparation, and mental toughness. I wouldn't give up on him just yet, but some offensive coaching changes are likely in order.
However, in a couple of years, with 4 or 5 OU losses in a row and no NC after 7 years, it might be the end of the line. And if OU insists on moving part of the series to Norman, I could see Texas doing whatever it takes to lure Stoops down to Austin.

Let's try something. Get on the web and look up three of Texas' best college programs and count how many are from Florida...and I'll look up UF,FSU and Miami and we'll see how many are from Texas and how many are from Florida.
I admit that I don't know a lot about Texas, but I can tell you most assuredly that Florida is HEAVILY recruited by every major program in the nation.

Jeremy Shockey got over-looked by OK and Texas schools.
I guess he was lucky since he wound up at Miami, All-American on the National Championship team.

    I humbly agree.
To: ItisaReligionofPeace
I really don't have that kind of time.
Yes, Florida is heavily recruited. So is Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Georgia, New Jersey and Ohio.
Gee whiz, it isn't that big a deal.

It is a big deal when someone such as yourself makes a statement with so much certainty.
I already added mine up. Between UF, FSU and Miami there are 11 players from Texas and 189 from Florida. A quick glance at Texas and A&M revealed 0 players from FL. I counted over 100 players on UT from Texas, though I don't know how this is possible.

I didn't "make a statement with so much certainty." A merely posted an opinion I shared with my dad a long time ago.
If I say you win, will you go away?

Yes, if you'll admit that your Texas attitude annoys many non-Texans. (and I actually like Texas and Texans generally)
To: ItisaReligionofPeace
I have no Texas attitude. I am not from Texas, nor do I live there. I was born in Kansas and I'm a freaking Husker fan, for cryin' out loud.
Why are so many freepers wound so tightly lately?
