Ebony magazine published the 50 most influential blacks and Rice, Powell, and Thomas were not on there.
It shows the constant villification of anything Republican. And that Harry Belefonte! What was he in the 60's? A nice 'safe' colored man. I wonder what the boys in the hood called Harry back then, eh?

That's them. This was an arbitrary decision made by a handful of people who run a magazine with an agenda. What happens if you ask real, every day Americans who their heroes are? Larry Elders wrote that "Harris's Interactive Annual Report on America's Heroes," from PR Newswire (Aug 15, 2001) reported that Americans named as their heroes, in this order, Jesus, MLK, and Colin Powell.
