This Guy Must Be Ex-Military

Posted on 10/11/2002 1:54:26 PM PDT by GulliverSwift

This guy must be ex-military. Look at his skill in slipping away, only trained snipers can do that.

The most recent shooting in Virginia happened when he shot the guy with a police officer 50 yards away. Dang, how do you slip away from that?

That's one of the things they know how to do, not only shoot the guy, but slip away with skill.

Either that or these Washington-area police are complete bafoons, which I'm willing to accept. All looking for a white van, even though there are so many white vans out there you could count 30 easily if you stand by the road.

At least we can live in comfort thinking that this guy had to wait a few days to get the gun he bought over the counter, so he was not able to regenge his victimization for a couple of days ... allowed him to cool off, ya know?

And doubly comforting thinking of how many pent-up conservatives are waiting to get a gun right now ... a dead conservative cannot claim "self-defense" as they are like to do.

I don't think so. I think one of the greatest concerns right now is that an innocent civilian will be peppered with bullets by some poorly trained and/or trigger happy LEO.

Very much like the Bolsheviks or ChiComs under Mao, husband your forces, let somebody else do the real fighting, and then take over from them by taking advantage of their weakened condition

No kidding, I didn't know that whent on in either case. Were the White Russians anti-Czar?

I have a weird theory. What if the sniper is in "training" for a bigger attack...as in, shooting at the President? Look at how he is operating..during the day, in crowded areas, even with police around. Just my two cents, but a thought anyway.

I've had that concern ever since the tarot card came out.

father/mother/child/priest/king all will die

Been posted in several of the earlier threads on the card.

I wondered then if king could = president

At the time I was thinking because of Prince George county, King George county

I forget which states each of those counties belong to. Maryland and Virgina??

I think it was shortly after the card came out that the SS joined the hunt. Could be just a coincidence, and then again maybe not.

I'm thinking an ex-cop

I'm thinking at least 2. 1 ex cop AND 1 ex military. One knows police procedures and can think like a cop. The other, weapons, stealth and tactical strategy.

May even be a third involved.

I was thinking along the lines of our special ops not LEO's.

The guy's an ex-military type hired to do the job by a third party. He's a mercenary, plain and simple.

So who do you think hired him?

That would be an outrageous violation of American law, even on the sly or qt. Maybe Sen. Bryd and several others have been absolutely right in their defense of the Constitution of the United States - whoops, sorry, I digress. ;-)

I really hope they catch this guy soon and I truly hope he isn't an American, regardless of how nuts he may be.

That's funny. I had exactly the opposite hope--that he was a modern Charles Whitman, which is to say a solitary nutcase, as opposed to the first of many Islamic terrorist snipers.

Terrorists or someone who wants this to look like a terrorist attack. That Stephen Coontz novel, Under Siege comes to mind.

I figured it might not be allowed, but after Hackworth said that it takes a sniper to get a sniper, I fear this guy may be around a while.

Hackworth also said that he didn't want to second guess how it was being handled, but that it reminded him of Viet Nam. That they were using a sledge hammer, and that is when he said, it takes a sniper to take out a sniper.

This would really screw up civilian law enforcement. How could you tell "good" snipers from "bad" snipers?

Here is something I noticed. This guy (s) is operating just like thte VC did in Nam. They used "District Boundries" because they knew they didn't have to worry about RFPF or CIDG in either district. The district gendarmes were afraid they would bump into each other at the boundries, and this provided a clear path for the VC. In fact, theier best time to move around was at noon, when the chopper pilots all went to base for lunch. We used to tap them marching down the trail at high noon like they had no care in the world, holding onto little bushes! (In case a plane came)

In this case the man is seeking refuge in the "Public Thoroughfare". If he tried hitting in communities his "pattern" would get picked up on his way into, or out of his stance. People KNOW what happenes where they live and have their TV sets. But when someone goes out to the Gas Station, or the Store they don't really know the "pattern" there so they do not recognize intruders.

I think a counter sniper team from Bragg could probably have this Dude policed up in a few days, but the regular police would have to leave them alone and back off. (Unlikely)

I know one thing though. If you want to catch a sniper you should put a sniper on his trail. DC Police in squad cars aren't it.

I understand and I wholeheartedly agree. However now, unlike the terrain, demographics and fields of battle in the 'Nam, the now-extended, Washington DC area is too much of a victim rich environment and has too diverse of a population to even second guess as to who the next target will be. This makes it impossible to determine where to deploy your teams.

Maybe it's time to call out the civilian "militia." ;-)

I think so too. And that was what my question was really for. I think we need to let military snipers deal with the shooter(s).

We aren't getting very far now, and the longer this goes on, may give ME guys ideas. We need to nip it asap. imo

Also the longer it goes on, the higher the risk that the area grows.

You're right; it seems to be part of human nature that when large scale events of devastation occur, there has to be some mastermind or intricate conspiracy at work, not some evil little schmuck who was a loser in elementary school and never got over it. Thus, Oswald never could have shot JFK (it had to be a mega-conspiracy of the CIA, Mob, Castro and other disparate elements) and the lowlife Sirhan Sirhan didn't shoot Bobby Kennedy (even though it was in plain view on camera and in front of plenty of eyewitnesses). I have a feeling we may be surprised when the killer here is apprehended (and I hope soon!) that he/she is a nasty little creep like Son-of-Sam Berkowitz or the Columbine 99-pound weaklings.

Sorry about the repost, but maybe you can help or ping someone who could help. Just starting to catch on...

--------------------

What happened today was very significant and tells us much more about the perps and their abilities. For some reason, a letter some radio talk show host read on his show a few days ago keeps coming to mind tonight: he (Michael Savage?) was talking about some Neo Nazi organization that sent a letter to Saddam telling him they supported him and would do something spectacular to show their support.

I didn't pay much attention at the time, but with everything that happened today (the extreme level of organization, skill and apparent guerilla warfare training) it came back to me. Anybody else remember the show? Can anybody remind me the content of the letter? I'm pretty sure it contained direct threats against Americans at home... MICHAEL SAVAGE ARE YOU LURKING???

------------------------

Anybody knows a Michael Savage fan. Is there a MS ping list? This is going to keep me awake all night...
