You're right, of course - I was thinking only of the partner angle. My mother used to scare me to death about L&L when I was growing up in Chicago in the 50s - I though they were still out there on the streets!

Many years ago I read an outstanding book on the case......horrific crime against that young boy.....but Clarence Darrow convinced the jury that the death penalty was bad. Some things never change.
