NEWSFLASH: Another shooting, approx. 9 AM, this time near Fredericksburg

I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.

No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.

Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

If this were the case (and there is already the police description out looking for TWO MEN in a vehicle), we'd be fools to think anymore that this is not terrorism directed not at the citizens of Virginia, DC and Maryland, but against all of us in the United States.

It could be a test of how this would work, or moreover, it could be a means to distract the American populace as a whole, while "other" things are being put in place...

Also on fox they have not found anything. This is just a "phone in". Could be a prank.

Fox now saying the shots ( or what sounded like)are near an elementary school in Bowie. Before, they said near the middle school where shooting was last week.

I also think this killer *could* be a video gamer in which you shoot people at distance for the thrill of it and don't need face to face satisfaction like many serial killers.

Very possible. If the theory that these are "training/qualification runs" is correct, it's even more possible.

I was thinking the shooter went back to Spotsylvania, a week later, to finish what he started there. A week ago he shot a woman there and she's already recovered. I hope I'm wrong about this.

sure. you bet. it could be anything. could be a way to subvert upcoming elections if people were hit standing in line to vote, or disrupt Halloween as parents dont want their costumed kids lying face down in blood.

Bastards could say 'attack Iraq and you get more of these'. That would be a potent way to terrorize the soccer moms, who would drop support of the war and hope that if we 'could all just be friends in the Middle East' this would all go away.... a lot of interesting parameters here.

Guys(and Gals),bear with my spelling,etc.,I've been awake way too long and am taking meds but want to try to get this across,it may be the place for it.

About the end of August I was headed N. of Plano Texas after being in the hospital.My wife was driving so I was able to check out a couple of men(dark hair and I thought dark complexion but it was hard to tell for sure)facing away from the 4 lane toward the service road,one with a camera.

I first thought he was taking pictures of wildflowers because the cameraman was squatting down.As we went by,I could see that he had his camera pointed more horizontaly and the only possible thing he could be photographing was a rental outfit across the service road from them.

The rental outfit had straight trucks that I noticed and most likely trailers,etc. but I only remember the trucks and am thinking they were mostly colored white but could be wrong.They were behind a tall cyclone fence IIRC.The office for the business was to the Southern end of the lot,I believe.

Hundreds of people must have seen these guys and I was in no shape to even have my wife drive back for a better look.

What do y'all think?I don't know what if anything to make of it as I'm not thinking very clearly.I suppose they could have been interested in buying the business.

I can't take this anymore. I went to both Kenilworth Elementary and Benjamin Tasker. This is awful!!!

There is only one major road that runs in front of Keniworth. Either the sniper fired from the main road or is out of his vehicle and hiding in the trees near the school. From my recollection there is not a woods near the school.

After having said Spectre could do it (in theory), I must admit that it would take a lot of them, it might take some time, and it might not be practical considering the limited resources. But, this is not dis-similar to the standard dry fire mission that was flown after hitting range 77, 78 or 52 at Eglin.

The reports of possible shots fired came from a police officer at the school. They found nothing so far. No ambulances yet.
