I work in a newsroom in Fredericksburg, and they heard on the police scanner that a person has been shot at a gas station at "Four Mile Fork" which is a neighborhood just south of the City of Fredericksburg.
No details yet, but I wanted to let y'all know -- and keep up the tradition of FReepers getting news first.
Pray for the victim, and pray that this is a random shooting, and that this monster's terror has not widened yet again.

Why on earth would anyone mandate for no pump latches? It's an EPA regulation, it doesn't have to make any sense.

If these are random shootings can someone tell me, based on the odds of population percentages in this area, how many more shootings until a Muslim gets hit?
Bear with my elementary question, since I don't get TV news. Has there been any pattern to the ethnicity of the sniper's victims?

I'll pass on that one.

Howdy.
I've actually had to work for a living lately and my preggers wife is about as ripe as Dixie Sweet melon...anyday now.
Gonna be tough to sneak away for deer season.

Depends on your definition of minorities. At least 2 black males, one of which was a teen. An elderly "white?" female. A white middle aged man died yesterday. That's all I can remember.

A truck driver heard the rifle shot. A maid at the hotel saw the white van. Inside was a woman. The van was swerving. Simple question. By now everyone in the area must know that the police are looking for a white van with a ladder rack. If the driver is not involved, why hasn't he or she come forward? If scared, why not park the vehicle and call the cops for a voluntary search?

Okay, this latest murder scene was shown and, right in the picture was the Ramada Inn sign. They have that holiday Ramadan (sp?) in a few months.
Maybe, they don't shoot and drive away, maybe they stay at hotels/motels by the crime and go back to their room to watch everyone scramble around. When you check in these days, the registration form asks for DL and license plate #'s. Yes, I know it's easy to fake if you pay cash, perhaps they can investigate that.

you can prolly bank on there being one salami victim in the first hundred or so.
everybody screws up eventually ...

Not these guys. They live for the sniper game. They practice daily with realistic sniper rifles costing up to $500.
These are not your paintball fanatics. I was referring to the targets not being 18-22 year-olds, not the shooter.

Someone said that van was found earlier and released. It was a guy that heard the shot and frantically tried to get way.

Woof, Woof!

Heard on TV this morning that victims wife phoned 911 that her husband had been shot.

A Virginia state policeman was on site of the shooting per chance investigating a traffic accident. He heard the shooting. Eyewitness said a vehicle linked to that had TWO people inside. The reporter in this press conference broke in and asked specificially "you speak in plural. Are you saying there was more than one person in the vehicle?"
The police spokesmen repeated and reiterated that there were two in the vehicle.

I wish the media would stop hypothesizing on the next BEST target for the sniper to drive fear into the hearts of the people. I agree. Sometimes I also get nervous when we do it on FR. This crazy person could be a lurker! Ya never know!
