Townhall has a column by Michelle Malkin about this, and she speculates that it could be an American citizen, black muslim...gives good reasons...
I'm not having much luck posting articles, I guess I need to learn a little more, but could someone help here? The article is worthwhile...
To: Judith Anne
Does she explain why then an older black man and a black child was targeted? I like MM.

John Miller on GMA reported that at the latest shooting, police found a piece of paper with the words "I am". Police are trying to determine whether this was left by the shooter.Well, in some traditions that is one of the Ineffable Names Of God, so if true it's probably the same guy.
Or a clever prankster with a good knowledge of esoterica.

You're welcome... :)

And some are worried about the Redskins game this weekend.I heard, on WWJ-AM radio, the CBS News report on this. Virginia high schools are cancelling football games this weekend, but authorities are talking loud and long over the media about high security on the Redskins game.
Could the shooter consider this to be another challenge?
To: twigs
No...but I think none of the victims have been moslem...if I remember correctly...

Could the shooter consider this to be another challenge? It might even be done on purpose, but now that's a very dangerous game!!!

If he didn't before, he/she may consider it a challenge worth considering now with all the suggestions of it in the media. Not beating up on the media here; they have a job to do and people want to know as much as they can about this. But there can be a price to pay for it.

It might even be done on purpose, but now that's a very dangerous game!!!Yes. If I were in charge, I'd ask Raytheon or whoever is running that program if I could borrow a few of their FireFinder bullet-tracing-radar prototypes, and set them up at the stadium, just in case...

Does a wimpy state like Maryland even have a death penalty?Yes, MD has a death penalty, but wimpy Gov Glendening commissioned an extremely expensive study from the U of MD (in hopes of getting the chandellorship there) and there is a moratorium of executions until the study is finished.
Now that KKT is in trouble, the study won't be finished until after the election - how about that?
As for the sniper, I still think it is a terrorist. There is a large Muslim community in Va outside of DC; there were potential terrorists picked up in Portland, where Chief Moose came from where they had been target shooting. Interesting...

and she speculates That is exactly what EVERYONE is doing. Nobody has a clue on this one. Arm all of the citizens and wait for him/her to make a mistake. That is the only way this will end, unless someone close to the perp turns them in.
Speculation is dangerous in this case. All possibilties must be considered.

Last night there was a quick blurb on WMAL that police were responding to a report of a hearing a shot in Bethesda near Bradley. No injuries reported of course.
Could he have missed? May be missing a few and we just don't know it?

That is the only way this will end, unless someone close to the perp turns them in.Especially if this is international terrorism, I agree that the shooter will be caught only by mistake or accident.
Imagine this - someone's walking their dog through a park, when they hear a shot. Shortly afterwards, they see a man emerging from some shrubbery carrying a long gym bag. What's there to do? If the dog walker is a licensed CCW, like many in Virginia are, then there's a chance of catching this guy. If not...

Yup, thanks. If I were in charge, that's where I'd start making phone calls...

Who saw the Movie "Enemy at The Gates?"
What do you think of the possibility this nut
was inspired by the cat-and-mouse drama
of the sniper laying in wait for his prey?
They played the movie over and over on
HBO this past month. I believe it is greater
than coincidence that this has begun happening
now.
