I agree. If I was the shooter,I'd be armed to the teeth for a major shootemup with the Police if I was spotted.

Press conference at 6:10 pm..link to be announced between the VA Manassas shooting and the sniper shootings.
Also Channel 7 is now talking about I270..Police were called by female as reported in above posts.....Now showing the man in the blue truck..taken into custody, sitting in cop car...Suddenly they are now talking about the FBI taking over the investigation......???? Nothing further about the I 270 incident!!!! Talk about half-assed reporting!

Wife just called and said to make sure I filled up both cars today. Sounds like a good idea: (1) Sniper may have difficulty setting up another shooting scene fast enough to shoot today. (2) It's raining today.
Myself, I'm going to take care to get gas only on military bases for as long as this goes on.

But running around with long guns might get a little dicey right now.Sure would put a damper on his MO. Not to mention what it would do to common criminals.

"With a $237,000 (?) reward, I'm almost tempted to visit . . ."A reward like that is like an open invitation, Isn't it?

FBI taking over what investigation, of the I270 incident?
To: Dead Dog
As someone who's been married nearly 36 years, I can vouch for that ..... and even admit that it's a 2 way street ...... :-)
An occasional "Please" and "Thank You" don't hurt either.

When the foliage/leaves start falling, this sniper will have slim pickings. I'm hoping he'll be caught and killed soonest.

This would be totally the opposite of his previous actions wouldn't it?Yes. I also think that if the color looked like white to others it would have looked white to those who reported it today. I was just making observation.
To: aristeides
No, talking about the FBI taking over the entire sniper case...

I doubt it - shooting in the rain was my favorite in Country. The rain covers noise and people are no where near a observant. Also, makes a hit easier to see from the water splatter.

There are some common sense methods to use while in gas stations. One is to position your car so that it is between you and the major roadway during a fill-up. Also keep the door open while filling. It might deflect a shot. Use the auto-fill feature until it clicks off, then get out and move quickly.
If you have to shop at Michael's, position your vehicle so the driver's door opens toward the store entrance. That way the car will be between you and the building and provide some protection. If you have to load a minivan in a grocery store lot, position the van so that the rear door (or slider) is opposite the major highway, as much as possible. Your back should be toward buildings when loading, not the highway or open spaces.

I'm going to take care to get gas only on military bases for as long as this goes on. If this goes on, all gas stations will be military bases! In the meantime, that sounds like an excellent idea as long as the base gas station isnt' within rifle range and line of site of the "outside".
