None of what you post is an indictment of Mr. Schiff; it's an indictment of big government.

Yes high taxes is an indictment of big government. I notice that nothing you or Schiff are advocating does anything at all towards the reduction of high taxation or that big government. Quite the contrary such activity as proclaimed by Schiff encourages the continuation and growth in power of that government.

The statutes enacted by the government and Mr. Schiffs actions are what indict Mr. Schiff, and those statutes are indeed legal and constitutional by your own admission.

"The laws are fine; "

If these laws are so fine, how is it you and Mr. Schiff are working to undermine them, as well as the basic fabric of respect for the rule of law this nation depends on.

No I don't accept you mere assertions. They are not even self consistent, much less evidence of being in anyway fruitful towards the goal of reducing big government or getting rid of an onerous tax system that we should not have to bare as a free republic.

Conservatives need to conserve their wealth and liberty to be applied in fighting the real battles rather than be squandered in the courts and prisons of this nation, as the route of those like Schiff and apparently yourself advocate lead to.

One who has been stripped of material resources by bankruptcy and court battles, and incarcerated is of little value in fighting the political battles that must be fought. A man sitting behind iron bars is a total waste and useless to the cause of getting government under control. Quite the contrary as such persons serve only to embolden and empower further government excess from sucessful prosecutions and exercise of raw power.

Fighting the minions of the bureaucracy accomplishes nothing, the real target lay in the halls of Congress, who are the responsible culprits and are totally ignored by the likes of Schiff who causes others to waste their energies and capacity against a strawman. Schiff does no battle against the true foe, he merely serves to divert and subvert the ability of folks to be effective in the real fight.

"Schiff is a horrible example of how not to approach the matter..."

Here's the text of a press release Donald Fecay sent to the media after his trial last summer. I've blocked the contact information since this release is over a year old.

PRESS RELEASE

FOR MORE INFORMATION

Don Fecay – (H) XXX-XXX-XXXX (Cell) XXX-XXX-XXXX

August 9, 2001 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Boston Man Blows Away Five Felony Charges Involving His Failure To Pay Michigan State Income Taxes

It took a Detroit jury only 2 ½ hours today to find Don Fecay of New Boston, Michigan not guilty of five felony counts charging him with intent to evade and defraud the State of Michigan of income taxes. Fecay admittedly did not file and pay income taxes to the State of Michigan for the years 1994 through 1998. Following procedures developed by noted tax critic Irwin Schiff, Fecay filed Schiff’s "zero" returns to the Federal government for the years 1994 through 1998. These returns include an attachment which explains why the filer believed he received no taxable income, even though he might have actually received $1,000,000 in wages, dividends and trading profits. Fecay went over his attachment to his federal tax return while on the witness stand testifying on his own behalf. He explained that the prosecution tried to use one of Schiff’s books, "The Great Income Tax Hoax" against him. However Fecay was told by a juror after being found not guilty that that book convinced the jury that Fecay was right.

The trial began on August 7th, 2001 and took place in the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit. The jury’s verdict was handed down on August 9, 2001.

I heard Fecay in a radio interview shortly after the trial and he did not sound to me like a raving separatist with bandoliers strapped across his chest leaping into a foxhole while waving a copy of the Posse Comitatus Act.

Strangely, Fecay's story was not carried by the local newspaper, nor was he invited to be a guest on any nationally syndicated talk radio shows, even the ones hosted by the chest-beating macho conservatives who constantly crow about "rolling back government" and "standing up for individual rights". Keep the sheeple in the dark.

I'm not saying Schiff's logic is totally flawed and that his methods have been totally ineffective.

What I am saying is that 'one size fits all' is not the best approach, as evidenced by many that didn't have similar results to Mr. F.

There is a significant exploration process for a person who comes to the realization that they have been defrauded and determine their rights regarding participation in the fraud anymore.

"There is a significant exploration process for a person who comes to the realization that they have been defrauded..."

I totally agree. The process of arming yourself with the law and your rights never ends, especially since the government is constantly changing its tactics to try to throw off and disarm those who have discovered the fraud.

When I began filing tax returns years and years ago, I had absolutely no idea what the laws were; I just filed because I was on my own, working for a living and...well, everybody else was filing returns too. Everyone I know who is not a lawyer or an accountant was of the exact same mindset as I was. Most of them -- sadly -- still are.

Most people's educations end when they graduate from college. It never dawns on them that's when their education actually begins.

The jury’s verdict

Gee too bad, another loss for Americans as the case was not carried through into a contest of law. I notice the Michigan STATE income tax and the Federal income tax are still on the books.

When you folks get a win that means something be sure to let me know.

O.J. Simpson blew away his felony charges too, and the the statutes against murdering one's spouse are still in place and effective as well.

The idea is to get rid of the tax law, not just manage to get a person here and a person their off the hook through the incompetence of a prosecutor. To accomplish that one must either repeal the statute by legislative action, challenge the law directly in a federal civil suit, or overturn the law through appeal of lower court rulings.

Anything less than success in the above leaves the statute intact to be used against yet another american paying high legal fees having to defend himself with with a near certain(90%+) probability of failure. What a waste.

When are you folks going to learn this will not be won in the judical system.

As I had stated many

As I have stated many times before, until the statute is permanantly removed from from our laws and the income tax is expressly prohibited from use by constitutional amendment, we have not won the fight.

The only REAL way that reform will take place is when the FEDERAL RESERVE's charter is revoked. Only then will the tax laws be fair and Constitutuional.

When a cabal of banks get together and create federal reserve notes out of nothing and then tells the government to borrow the money it needs from the Fed, we are hanging ourselves with a massive debt that the Fed profits from.

The IRS, which is an arm of the federal reserve, then goes after you and I in order to collect to pay the debt that the Congress got itself into when it used federal reserve notes to buy your vote with government programs.

So when you hear Mathew Lesco scream on TV about all the government money that's available for you to spend, just remember that you are spending your way to your own doom.History shows that Governments who have a legal and lawful money system, always prosper. Governments who bow to a central bank and allow them to create money always end up bankrupt and in ruin.
