Whatever this situation turns out to be, we can't forget that AQ has trained for just these sort of individual attacks, including attacks on golf courses, of all the unlikely places. Absolutely! Just not this time, imo But I imagine at some point in the not so far future.

Regardless of who, this is terrorism.
If it was happening in a different area, I'd score 10 extra points for a "couple of guys playing playing terrorist-like" games.. BUT... this is all around DC and I have to put the 10 points in a different column and speculate that there may be a whole group with the same mentality.
This is a 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 etc...in a very short time span. Don't think it fits a couple of guys "playing terrorist". I don't care how good they are. It took a tremendous amount of planning.

Wound is to the upper part of the body.That changes my speculation from last night. Then it still could be the same shooter as the one whose victims didn't die, except he got his first success. In that case, he would've shot from OUTSIDE the van, not inside like the other shooter whose victims were shot in the head.
I doubt the skilled shooter would've missed a shot to the head, unless he's getting nervous which could be a good thing. So if it turns out the shot was fired from inside the van, I'll have to seriously reconsider my theory...

Back in the late '80s, a friend of mine used to drive a white panel van and park wherever he wished. He always carried some orange cones. After parking illegally, he placed the cones out in front and back of his van and almost never got a ticket. They must have thought it was a utility van from the phone company or something.

Decent summary.
The Attornery, Mr. Ebert, was asked about Maryland's moratorium on the death penalty. Ebert said that he couldn't speak for Maryland, but that he would use two possible VA statutes to pursue the death penalty - 1) two homicides within 3 years or 2) the Patriot Act with regard to terrorist actions.
Thanks for the summary; the Chief Deane did a decent job at the press conference as did Mr. Ebert.

I agree. But what will happen when they catch these people. The government will not want to call them terrorists, so they might just disappear to Cuba and nobody will ever know.
Can you imagine the uproar and possible carnage that may take place in the US if they end up being muslims.
