Great story! One more reason to be thankful I live in America. Why? Move this story to, let's say, London, or Manchester, or Edinburgh. Result? This guy would be imprisoned FOR LIFE for defending family and property against armed thugs.
Note to criminals: Move to Britain. Your victims can't fight back there.

If I understand Virginia law correctly, if Steve did this in Virginia, he would be in jail. There were no threats made. Just the breaking of wood. Ridiculous, I know.

[Trade the .380 for a larger-caliber weapon. Ed.]
------------------
The .380 did very nicely. It just didn't hit a critical area. I've tested them They'll go through wall and kill.

How
dare this man, Steve deprive those children of a little fun...or perhaps their livelyhood!
He should have his home and property confiscated and given to those poor, deprived young men.
(Do I really need to put the < /sarcasm> here?)

Ronald Cousin, 18; Steve Nelon, 19; Jerome Thompson, 19; and two 16-year-old boys were arrested Monday for burglary with use of a deadly weapon and home invasion. Jerome? Guess he wont be convicted of a hate crime then.

This guy made so many mistakes he's lucky to be alive.
Gun in a safe AND unloaded..... please!
Don't even want to talk about choice of calibers....
Aiming for the head...... only if he's down with 2 or more in him already. "Don't risk your @$$.... aim center mass"

Indeed....a gun in a safe with no bullits in it ain't even as good as a rock...
Keep it loaded, keep it available

If he lived here in New York, he probably would have been charged for something, he would have all of his firearms and ammo confiscated (most likely for ever), his pistol permit would probably be revolked for life, and the parents of the kids he shot would probably be suing him.

You're probable right, because the thugs would have been better armed. It's crazy, isn't it? Criminals are well armed in the UK while citizens are defenseless.

Practice, pray; pray and practice--this is likely to become increasingly common-place--eventually with governments like Billdo and Shrillery looking the other way in terms of the intruders or even encouraging them.
