Well, if you're a Mule, you must be okay. My mamma was born in Joplin. She says she used to carry a rifle to school in order to protect her from the wild pigs. That could be a fib, but I think it's probably true.
LOL I don't know that could be true.....My grandmother use to tell me she had to walk across 3 fields, even during the winter to get to her ride..so she wouldn't have to walk the rest of the way to school. The wildest story I heard was how my great grandmother use to pluck chickens or geese, I forget which. She and my grandmother told me..that after she chopped their heads off..the birds would get up and run for a while. Hence the saying "I'm running around like a chicken with its head cuttoff" ..when one is in a big hurry, running all over the place and not really getting anywhere. :)
