I agree on Kitty as I have said BUT I don't think Oppie was telling her anything I think his disillusionment with communism was sincere... every picture of him after the 30's he looks like a unhappy man.

I love the "unhappy man" proof posted below your message. I think we have to assume that someone who was related to, married to, and associated with Communists was an active participant in their schemes. Maybe he regretted it later. Does that matter?
