A woman from Germany who came here 30 years ago, was practically in tears as she implored Americans that we have freedom and that the Iraqi people deserve the same.

As admirable as those beliefs may be, that is not the reason we are going after Iraq. It is because Iraq is a threat to the US, it has nothing to do with the kind of government they have. If Saddam only brutalized his own people, the US wouldn't do a thing about it. It is only because he is a threat to us, that we are forced to take action. If the next Iraqi leader is a dictator who is friendly to the US, the government will not care one whit. We restored the Emir of Kuwait, and Kuwait isn't a democracy.

He had a man on who discussed that and explained how there is no other leader, even of Iran and the others in the "Axis of Evil" who are lead by a man such as Saddam. That was all covered.

However, the Iraqi man made a compelling case for the fact that the people of Iraqi support this also. He said that he has met not one general in the Iraqi army who would want to die for Saddam.

This German woman really began tearing up when she spoke of the fact that Germans - and the world -- looked the other way while Hitler built his empire and committed genocide. It took a world war to take him out. I felt that this was one of the more powerful moments in the show -- yes, Iraqi's should have their freedom -- but more than that, we have GOT to learn from the past.

I can think of quite a few missions we've been involved in where the U.S. fought in order to help others and not because we were threatened. But this is beside the point.

I think you are implying that there is something wrong with a nation only acting when it is threatened? While your belief is noble, the devil is in the details.

It's like the people who always says, "someone needs to do something about this", or "we need to do something about this". In both of these cases the "someone" and the "we" means not me. Your beliefs would be much more admirable if you were suited up and ready to go fight for them, but you're not. You're just another armchair loser.
