Oprah has done what the networks denied President Bush. She has reached the American public with the case for war on Iraq, now rather than later. West Coasters..catch Oprah, your jaw will drop!

You know it was Oprah who got Dubya elected, don't you?
On one of my sick days, I did channel surf over to Oprah's show.
She was having Chris Rock back on for a return appearance.
IIRC correctly, they rolled some tape from his last appearance and he was
(kindly) ragging on Oprah because "you know you got Dubya elected, girl!".
And then they came back to Rock (on the present show) and he said "Dubya has done a
great job since 9-11"...and he said a few other positive things about Dubya.
I just about freaked out...thought I'd had a stroke.
Good thing I won't see this current show without this warning...I might have had a heart attack.

He had a man on who discussed that and explained how there is no other leader, even of Iran and the others in the "Axis of Evil" who are lead by a man such as Saddam. That was all covered.
However, the Iraqi man made a compelling case for the fact that the people of Iraqi support this also. He said that he has met not one general in the Iraqi army who would want to die for Saddam.

No, more accurately, it tells them they do so at their own peril.
It looks like a fair portion of the soccer moms are gonna make THIS the next issue. Bad news for the Dems if they don't stop stalling.

I really thought this was a joke at first but according to oprah.com, this was the topic today. I'm officially stunned. Jaw on the floor.

I never watch her, but I wanted to see what she was going to say. To my unending
surprise, the guests she had on laid out the President's case perfectly.
LOL! Hey, I'm a white, middle-aged guy...I watch occassionally and am sometimes
amazed at the good moral clarity of the show.
What can I say...it's out of Chicago, not from the East or West Coast.
One old show (10 years ago?) was the one on racial prejudice...that showed a black
security guard giving the bum's rush to a black person.
BUT, the "black person" was a white actor who had been graciously treated by the
black security guard earlier...but once the costuming/makeup people turned
out a "black" version...even the black security guard wouldn't give them
the time of day.
There may be a bit too much estrogen in the air on some episodes...but I respect
Oprah, especially because she sometimes has shows that really open up the mind.

How cool. Good on Oprah. How much you wanna bet she gets an invite to a state dinner for this one... She's definitely earned one. I used to like Oprah way back when, but I got tired of all the touchy-feely, hanky-wringing appeal to the emotional. I did like her interview with President Bush during the campaign.
