So does this mean I'm not allowed to hate her anymore?
OK I don't really hate Oprah, she's a pretty smart broad, and at least she walks the walk (she donates a LOT of money to charity). Anyway, us Chicago kids gotta stick together.
Pretty shocking though.

Oprah struck me as one of those RATIONAL moderates - at least what I heard of her. She's got influence, as that book club shows. If this went out to however many households - and people DO watch that show - then this is gonna be BIG, especially if Senator KKK (aka Robert Byrd) holds up the vote.
This is not gonna be fun for the anti-war "peace at any price" crowd...

I just went over to Oprah to read the comments at the message board about this show. The lefties are pissed off big time. "This show was pure propoganda", "this show was so biased", "If you are going to do a show like this at least offer both sides" and on and on and on....
Wow, am I impressed.....

A lady in the audience made a comment to the effect that there were Iraq problems with Bush 1, then no problems with Clinton, and now Bush again and more problems.
OPRAH SAID..."So you think it's a Bush thing? Don't you think that the problems were there with Clinton, he just looked the other way?"
No, kidding!!

here is the latest weather report from hell
To: KsSunflower
A woman from Germany who came here 30 years ago, was practically in tears as she implored Americans that we have freedom and that the Iraqi people deserve the same. As admirable as those beliefs may be, that is not the reason we are going after Iraq. It is because Iraq is a threat to the US, it has nothing to do with the kind of government they have. If Saddam only brutalized his own people, the US wouldn't do a thing about it. It is only because he is a threat to us, that we are forced to take action. If the next Iraqi leader is a dictator who is friendly to the US, the government will not care one whit. We restored the Emir of Kuwait, and Kuwait isn't a democracy.

ROFLMBO Okay. For one week I will buy from her sponsors, but that's ALL. Unless of course she says something nasty against Harry Belafonte.
To: KsSunflower
WOW, of course the better answer would have been "then why did Clinton keep bombing them?"
But what the hell, her answer rocked too.

I'm so glad you started this thread. I take back just about everything bad I've ever said about her. I can't believe it. I never watch her, but I wanted to see what she was going to say. To my unending surprise, the guests she had on laid out the President's case perfectly.

I'm a conservative male and I like watching Oprah. Forced into it at first by my girlfriend, I find her show pretty good.
Every time I hear a conservative talk about the "Oprahfication" of America I wonder if they've every watched the show (I highly doubt Rush does, and he uses that phrase all the time.) She just talks about the issues and brings people on to talk about them. There isn't a sobbing "Woe is me" on there but rather a constant refrain of that you have to clean up your own life.

I watched some of Oprah's tributes to the families of 9/11 victims and I was so impressed with her heartfelt compassion for everyone, particularly the children.
To: KsSunflower
I heard that too, and I let out a yelp so loud that my toddler came running to see what was wrong with her mama! =)
To: KsSunflower
Wow! Maybe Oprah and Condi have become friends.
