US, Brits Bombing Mosul, Iraq Radar Sites-Breaking
Sankei Shimbun in Japanese ^ | 9 October 2002 | Sankei Shimbun in Japanese

Posted on 10/09/2002 1:46:48 PM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

US and Britain are bombing air radar sites in Mosul, Iraq, it has been reported in the Japanese press, quoting Reuters. Actually, to the north and west of Mosul, in the No Fly Zone. This is of course a bit by bit ramping up the inevitable. No reports on numbers of casulties. Announced by European Command, according to report I translated just now (4:45 p.m. Eastern Wednesday, 5:45 a.m. Thursday in Tokyo)

You can't seem to distinguish between tragic error or unintended consequences of a necessary act - and intentional evil. This means you are completely void of morality or mature discernment. That being the case, you have no sound basis upon which to issue judgement or opinion. So you should close your yap and pray to God for a little clarity and guidance. Once you understand the difference, your opinion will matter.

Dante3 should take up residence in The Butcher's palace and give him a big smooch. He probably has light feet.

Camp out in France until this is all over. Preferably in Paris. It will be a great target for the next bombing.

Why is my opinion "wrong"?

I am just questioning all the propoganda we are being subjected to by President Bush and his administration who seems eager to attack his daddy's old nemises, Saddam. But, before President Bush can attack this dirt-poor Arab country, he must first "demonize" and "delegitamize" the regime. Hence his accusations: Saddam is "Stalin"; Saddam wants to attack America; I refuse to live in fear of Saddam; "weapons of mass destruction"; etc., etc.

I will readily support this war if someone can cite a single source where Saddam ever indicated he :

1. Wants to directly "attack" America.

2. Considers the American people (as opposed to President Bush and his father) to be his "enemies".

Does anyone really believe the White House story that Saddam wants to attack America? USSR, Warsaw Pact and Commie China never dared to attack, even with all their nuclear might - because they knew it meant instant annihilation. Now I am to accept this propoganda that if we don't destroy Saddam, he WILL attack us?

If President Bush is so keen on taking out Saddam, let him do it in a personal duel as suggested by the Iraqis.

If Saddam is behind the 9-11, I say take him out - period.

But even the CIA says that he has no connection with 9-11. If anyone financed, sponsored and aided the terrorists of 9-11, it's the Saudis. Yet we turn away from accusing the corrupt tyranical Saudi "Royal family" and focus to Saddam.

How many of the vermin terrorists of 9-11 were Iraqis and how many were Saudis?

History will point out that if you don't do the reps during the week, you'll never be ready on Game Day.

True.

I am just referring to reprisals against civilians. Of course there is no direct analogy with WW II since it was trully a war of annihilation - particularly on the Russian front.

What will history say?

Deliberat fabrications by the White House led the US into three unnecessary wars: Vietnam, Serbia and Iraq (II).

you think he DOESN'T??? listen, Dante, all one has to do is to have lived on this planet for the past 15 years to realize that the majority of arab states hate us and will do whatever is in their power to bring about our demise. THAT is reality. Not some big Kumbayah circle with Saddam holding our hands.

Gosh, just this week it was reported on FoxNews that the "vice president" of Iraq called for moslems everywhere to attack and kill Americans anywhere in the world.

Do you think he did that all by himself without permission?

Iraq provided refuge for fleeing members of Al Qaeda running from American bombing in Afghanistan. The Al Qaeda, with Osama bin Laden, are responsible for the bombing of the WTC in 1993 and 2001. In those two incidents, where civilians and not the American military were targetted, greater than 3000 died and countless scores were injured. I doubt any of them were military. They weren't collateral damage, they were primary targets. Now, you may argue that the Pentagon was a military target, and you'd be right. That means a declaration of war from Al Qaeda, imho. And when we took them up on the war declaration, they ran to who? Saddam. And did Saddam arrest them and turn them over to us? No. Are you truly stupid or willfully ignorant?

History will say, with a sad, somber voice, "You didn't drop near enough ordnance you friggin' idiots".

If you had, you would have avoided many of your future problems.

ps...I believe pummeled is the word you were thinking, instead of plummeted. Plummeted is what happens to our way of life when DemocRATs are in power.

Like the Afgan wedding party leaving almost 50 people dead and over a hundred wounded.

You shouldn't believe everything you read.

You question the "propaganda" coming from the White House, yet accept completely the propaganda coming from Iraq and Afghanistan via Al Jazeera and Reuters.

What does THAT say about you?
