During the debate on the Iraq resolution, Senators Thurmond was given time to make a statement about the travesty pulled by Senator Leahy in the Judiciary Committee yesterday. Reid, standing in for the coward Leahy tried to make excuses and then Senator Hatch ripped some new ones.
The travesty is described in the Washington Times article:
"Senate Democrats snub Thurmond's nominee" is at:

Byrd is blovating to the senate his disappointment and called on THE PEOPLE to right this OOHH, lemme guess, lemme guess ... something along the lines of "I've NEVER in my 453 years in the Senate accused any of my fellow senators of being a liar .... NEVER! And I'm disappointed that you would accuse one of our colleagues of being less than truthful."
Something like that? Those of us in cubicle hell have got to know ;-)

It's good to see the slimeballs get called out as liars and crooks. Speaking of a big fight (and speaking of Texas history), it's about time for someone to take one of these Dem low-lifes and do to him what Sam Houston did to a Congressman who insulted him. Sam beat him to the ground with his hickory cane and left the s.o.b. lying, broken and bleeding on the street.

no Byrd made NOT ONE comment on the judicial
matter....not one

Byrd says, "I don't intend to hold the floor much longer". Too late fossil breath!
He yields it only to his cronies, for stupid questions. Kennedy is now asking the same question Boxer asks...wonder how many ways can they say the same thing? and is there a time limit on this foolishness?

Don't taunt us. Most of us can only wish for a man like that as their senator. I've got a couple of candy-ass commies who deserve to be on the recieving end of ol' Sam Houston's cane.

I always mistrust those rabbity little men, don't you?

The Senate is broken. Absolutely broken, and it is entirely due to the unscrupulous and poisonous antics of Tom Daschle. I agree that the Senate is broken and I doubt that many in the Senate would claim that there is collegiality anymore. But, you have to include garbage like Reid and Leahy in the list of causes.
If the DemocRATs retain the majority after the election, I would not be surprised to find fist fights breaking out - on the floor and in some of the committees.

OH NO. Not Kennedy...I can't listen anymore. Had to turn down the sound. Glad I don't have high blood pressure or a heart condition. I'd probably have to call 911.

From your link...
" Last year, Mr. Thurmond also complained that Senate Democrats objected to a late-night gentleman's agreement that would have allowed the aging and frail South Carolina Republican to go home during marathon voting on tax cuts. Democrats denied the accusation, saying the Senate simply adjourned for the night before the kind-hearted agreement could be worked out."
Real nice...
Thanks for the link!
