You DOC sounds more like a match. Disregard my Doctor Dixon post.

If the sniper's game is to evade capture for as long as possible, it would make sense to distort your "profile" as much as possible to keep LE off your path.
It would be like using digital camouflage, or a decoy. They could have easily pulled a few choice quotes from the FR, referenced them in the planted evidence, and all of a sudden the coppers are looking at the "Vast Right Wing". They could kill two ideological birds with one stone
This dude may not have any message or point to make, it could simply be to create havoc and disrupt our comfy lives. I think he wants American's to feel pain and sorrow.
People who value liberty also tend to value the lives of others. In my less then humble opinion, there is an ideological link. This sniper could not be from RTKBA crowd and still hit innocents, unless they were collateral damage (OKC?). The sniper does not see civilians as an acceptable loss, but the primary target.

I'd thought, like you, it was probably a terrorist cell, until I heard about the tarot card. Now, I just think he's a homegrown nutjob, but am keeping an open mind. Steven Emerson's book American Jihad talked about smaller, individual sleeper cell jobs similar to this, so it's not outside the realm of possibility. If it isn't Islamanazi terrorism this time, someday it will be. Unfortunately.

Probably the one the news hounds found when they sent somebody down to the local New Age store for a deck . . .
The Waite deck has always struck me as poorly and stiffly drawn, and very badly colored. But the more "artistic" decks stray from the traditional iconography, which makes them very hard to use.
I kind of like the Mary Hanson Roberts deck, although some have criticized it as too "cute". She has a good command of line and an excellent eye for color, and she sticks to the traditional symbolism.

And further down that thread, sandwiched between some very bitter complaints about cops overstepping the law to enforce the law, was this comment:

Do ya'll remember Detective Mark Fuhrman during the OJ Simpson trial? (He's the one who lied about saying the "N" word)...Remember what he said? "Out there I AM God!"....
ALL cops think alike. Those who don't, quit.....
I'm not saying one of these guys is the sniper...but maybe someone who follows their postings and shares their bittnerness went over the deep end.

Well, I'll give you this much:
If I thought I was so smart, and was going to fake being a wacko right-wing sniper, I would read that kind of newsgroup to pick up the "accent", so to speak.

If the crazy they grabbed in MD is the guy, I will be eating two days worth of crow. I really don't want this to be a home grown nut.

Brian Wilson on Fox just reported:
The police responded to a report of shots fired at the house. When they arrived, they saw a man leaving the house. The police arrested the man. The police went inside to look for victims but they did not find any victims. They did see lots of guns. Now they are getting a search warrant so they can go back and search the house properly. The police had talked to this man sometime in the recent past.
Although they did not say this on Fox, I think the police are very interested because their geographic profile says the shooter lives in that general area and this man has guns.

"Although they did not say this on Fox, I think the police are very interested because their geographic profile says the shooter lives in that general area and this man has guns." One of the news channels said that Police had already visited his house before because he is a known gun collector.

Since the age of PC, the term POLICEMAN is not commonly used. This leads me to believe that the shooter is perhaps a foreigner. Keep in mind that disinformation works in both directions. The Tarot card could just as easily be a ploy to lead LEO away from the shooter.

That is WAY too big of a coincidence to be nothing. I think so too. I was quite amazed when I found that thread. To find "Dear Mr. Policeman" and "I am God" in the same thread is ming boggling. It doesn't seem too far-fetched to assume that the killer(s) know about this thread, either because they are lurkers, posters, or people who want to set up the posters on that site or discredit that Wayne guy. I'm not sure the posters would be this careless, though. Could definitely be a lurker or a set up.
BTW, after I noticed the "Dear Mr. Policeman" and "I am God" on the same page, I did another search with the 2 combined and it's the only page that came up... That's why I don't think it's a coincidence...
And Sarah, you're right about who this Wesley guy probably is. But I'm sure he has nothing to do with the whole thing. The posters are just using an older letter of his.

WMAL in Washington, DC is reporting someone has been shot in the head at a Sunoco station in Manassas, Virginia. Reporter says it's too early to know whether or not the recent shooting is related to the others.

Thanks for the tip.
TV 7 is showing lots of police cars at the station. TV 5 would have the 10 PM news, except baseball is on tonight. I'll try the radio.

Drove past there around 8:55 pm tonight -- 234 completely blocked off going south. It's right off I-66.

I had to leave for church, so I'm waaaaay behind. Just want to thank you Duke, for repeating about Dateline profiler who appeared to have a good handle on the sniper.

Channel 7 (ABC-WJLA) has a newsteam at the Sunoco station? RT. 234 (Sudley Road) is closed according to WMAL. There's nothing on either the WMAL or WTOP websites yet.

Guest on WMAL saying we need to take a deep breath, but this shooting is almost exactly the same time as one of the others and the gas station is suspicious.
