A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 10/8/02

President Bush headed to Knoxville, Tennessee to speak to workers at Alcoa regarding the war on terror, and once again called on Congress to pass the Homeland Security and terrorism insurance bills. Before heading to Alcoa, Bush spoke in favor of Republican gubernatorial candidate Van Hilleary at the Cherokee Aviation Hanger. Bush also asked Attorney General Ashcroft to seek an injunction under the Taft-Hartley Act, ending the lockout and requiring work at the ports to resume at a normal pace. The injunction is done as a cooling off period for both parties involved. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Yep. It really does help to call any congressman, no matter if you are in their district or not. I remember during the Florida fisaco, I was constantly calling and emailing Joe Scarborough's office. After the election was over, he sent me a nice letter, saying that my support from a different state meant a lot to him.

I've only had it for about a year, but I constantly watch FOX too, my husband thinks I'm crazy for only watching the news, but I'm addicted. Occasionally I do switch to see what the RATS have to say about things and shorty there after get discusted and go back to the normal people.

Yes, I love digital. I've only had it for about a year and the only thing I watch is FOX..or HBO on Sunday nights..my husband thinks I'm crazy for only watching the news, but it's addictive and occasionally I check to see what the RATS are saying on the communist channels, then I know it's time for me to go back to the normal people on FOX.

Great pictures tonight (and every night!), but the first one is a real keeper.
MM, I got my copy of Fighting Back from Amazon today and have already read half of it. I am amazed at the amount of detail in it. Do you or anyone know if Sammon was given access to Bush prior to 9/11?
We've all had so much fun seeing Barney in previous pictures that I thought I'd post this comment Bush made about him on page 19:
"My wife sorta likes the dog, but the neat thing is that he's crazy about me," the president confided to his dinner companions. "I've never had a dog so crazy about me as this dog. He just follows me everywhere."
I know how Barney feels! LOL

Did you see what Terry McAuliffe said? He said he is going to have thousands of lawyers posted on election day and also will have an 800 number for RAT voters to call if they have "problems" voting or if they are intimidated. Time for the Justice Department to step in and put a stop to this garbage. I smell a new Civil Rights Act coming 'round the bend, this one for disenfranchised dem voters who didn't get to vote twice or sumpin' like 'at.

Rintense: Your pixes are GREAT as usual -- love the flag pixes.
All: If you didn't get to see the President's speech in Tennessee, you can view it at
http://www.wate.com (a local television station)
As I have mentioned before, reps and senators are counting their calls relative to the Iraqi resolution. It's IMPERATIVE that we provide them with our perspective (multiple times). I recommend that everyone at least make the time to call the following:
Byrd (D,WV)-- I don't know if I can survive a weeklong filibuster from this senile KKKer:
202.224-3954
Daschle (D,SD): 202.224.2321
Gephardt (D,MS)--thank him for working with the President:
202.225-2671
Lieberman (D,CT)-- thank him for working with the President:
202.224.4041
Lott (R,MS)-- encourage him to keep battling Daschle:
202.224.6253
Hastert (R, IL)-- encourage him to keep his Pubs in line --Armey indicated tonight that up to 10 Pub reps might vote against the resolution:
202.225.2976
Your own reps and senators [I just discovered that Senator DeWine (R, Ohio)-- 202.224.2315 -- is actually considering voting against the resolution. OhioWFan, et al, let's get on this idiot's case!]

Guys, see Miss Marple's post #88. Hugh mentioned today that Senator ?????????????? 's office had received a large amount of anti-war calls. And he gave the phone number.
HELP! (Please?????)
To: Miss Marple
Thank you for posting the news about the majority of calls to Senators being Anti-war. I called both of mine today after hearing Finestine (sp!) say she had had about 9000 calls against the war.
Then I called our local morning talk show to tell the whole pre-Rush audience that Senator Sarbanes is planning to vote against the resolution, and Senator Mikulski 'hasn't decided yet' according to her staff.
We all must do this. Don't let the DUers be the only voices heard by Washington.

Check out the blurb on the jacket cover and the front matter in the Introduction and/or Preface. Someplace like that I think it explains that Sammon was traveling with the President on some sort of special access that is rotated around various reporters.
Clearly from the reporting, he must have been there in Florida, the evening of Sept 10, with Bush.

If the super cool lab's parent are anything like us....they are in hog heaven having you enjoy their house and baby their baby....There is nothing better than a dog loving housesitter who just wants to get away and stay somewhere else AND is an animal lover. We count on that... They were vastly relieved that I could do this -- their last dog, a black Lab, got hit by a car and killed, and they were just sick over it. So they are extra protective of this *baby* (about 80 lbs., I think). She is a doll! How much love can God pack into one pooch? She has it all. She's a good dog, too; she sits and stays, and comes when I call her. Their property is on the water but on a bluff, with beach access. The home has enormous plate glass windows on every wall facing the water (sunset view). Every luxury.
The only thing better would be to have stowed away on their travels through Sicily, Venice, their Mediterranean cruise ship, and Zurich. ;-)

a big DITTO.. Now see, don't you feel better.Yes, I do feel better, thank you. Just got off the phone with my mom who may be more right wing than me and we had an extremely enjoyable Byrd bashing session -- we raked Daschle over the coals too.

It infuriates me Byrd is going to do this even though he knows all it will do is delay the inevitable. I look at the Dems and wonder if they are from another planet. We've had to put up with McDermott, Bonior, Byrd, Daschle, Toricelli and Lautenberg this past week and it's becoming a bit much.

I smell a new Civil Rights Act coming 'round the bend, this one for disenfranchised dem voters who didn't get to vote twice or sumpin' like 'at.I wouldn't be surprised! The RATS have a lot of corruption planned for November 5th...I hope our guys are ready. The good part is that we control the Justice Dept this time around.

What did Belafonte say? I saw the last minute or two of Hannity & Colmes and could tell Sean was furious.
